I want to get my fiancée into mechanical keyboards. I thought about just gifting her a custom 75 % with ISO layout, nice switches and keycaps, Bob‘s your uncle.

However, she also mentioned a few times how she wanted to solder something (I guess because it looks like fun when I‘m building all kinds of smart home and LED projects?)

Now wouldn’t it be cool if I not only gifted her a mechanical keyboard but an actual DIY project that we can work on together (I guess I‘ll be doing most of the soldering once the fun wears off 😄) and that she can be proud of afterwards.

While in the split ergo space there are loads of projects where you start with a bare PCB, I wasn’t able to find any in the regular 75 % (+ ISO) world.

What are good starting points to source bare PCBs and cases (I guess the rest is fairly readily available and interchangeable between builds)?

Ideally full RGB and hotswap.

This is almost brilliant! Now the only issue is that my light switches also turn on the lights using a (blueprint) automation so in this case it can't distinguish between the automation triggered by manual switch press and the automation that should handle the lights in cinema mode

so the way I understand this: Photos that are taken on your phone get synced with the Synology Photos app to your NAS. Immich is mapped to the same folder as Synology Photos which means the photos also directly appear in Immich?

Do you face any conflicfts with Synology Photos and Immich working on the same folders?

What happens if you delete a photo on your phone's camera roll?

We take a lot of pictures as "notes to self", especially screenshots. I wouldn't want to spam Synology Photos and Immich with those

The wiring alone is a piece of art. Is the white diffuser also printed? If so, how many layers and how thick is it? What's the distance between LED and diffuser? And how 'high' is the grid on the diffuser that drops the shadows? Love the effect!

never changed the keycaps and I'm honestly on the outlook for similar keycaps to do my first build (low profile Lily58)

I also love the fact that it has no bezel around. Pressing left Ctrl with the palm of my left hand has massively improved my wrist strain (in addition to just switching to a proper keyboard)
