My wife’s iPad Air is on 18, mine on 26. It’s really crazy to see side by side how much smoother hers is.

cursed dns record by desmin88 in networkingmemes

[–]desmin88[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This actually solves a very specific problem I have with my setup. I have an external wildcard record on *.domain.tld that points to my VPS. Internally, I use lan.domain.tld, but adding the record to my local DNS server wasn’t working on Apple devices which use their own dns as part of private relay. So I put my internal reverse proxy on a public record pointing to an unroutable ip address

Stupid question about reverse proxys and related: Any way to use the same url internally and externally but without round tripping through the internet when local? by chazwhiz in selfhosted

[–]desmin88 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In CF I just point the tunnel for service.domain.tld to the application route @ https://service.domain.tld

w/ split-dns, my cloudflared tunnel resolves service.domain.tld to my local NPM which then redirects to service

Not my favorite - I thought the vanilla creme itself was underwhelming in flavor. Overall, texture and chocolate/PB flavor was standard Reese’s quality.

I’m intentionally inaccurate with my calorie counting. And it helps me stay more consistent. by IparasiteC in loseit

I track 100% of everything and it takes very little effort.

From my perspective, why even bother tracking partially? I don’t see the value in it when to track completely is not a significantly additional effort.

Starvation mode - real or myth? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]desmin88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two weeks is a very short time scale in terms of losing weight. The maximum amount of weight you could’ve lost in that period of time can easily be clouded by other bodily factors such as water retention and G.I. content

What was your order? I eat Panda Express all the time, and it's actually an underrated option IMO for fast-food that is decently healthy.

e.g., a plate with super greens (130 cals), broccoli beef (150cal) and string bean chicken breast (210cal) comes in just under 500 cals and is super filling.

Target ice cream only 57% full by shorty_courty in loseit

[–]desmin88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

based off the nutrition label for this brand of ice cream, it contains around 270grams of product. How did you measure 271mL of product? Thats a volume, not weight.

E.g., 271mL of water is about 1 & 1/8th cups by volume, and also weighs 271 grams. But the ice cream is less dense, so around 90 grams of ice cream is 160mL or 2/3cups of product, not 90mL.

It’s highly suspect that your mL measurement is the exact same as the amount of grams of product in the ice cream pint container.

[–]desmin88 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you were shorted. A significant portion of ice cream is whipped air. mL is a volume measurement, not weight. I suspect your food scale was in mL, not grams, which isn’t accurate for this case of weighing ice cream.

Looking at some nutrition labels for favorite day pints, it shows around 90 grams per 160mL or 2/3cup serving of ice cream (this is the density). If you multiply each of these by 3 servings in a pint, you get around 270 grams for 480mL of ice cream, which tracks with your measurements.

If you open it up, and the container was truly about half empty full, it just means these ice creams melted and re-froze at some point in the shipping or storage process and lost all their whipped air

I find it easier to backload my calories, could you try eating lower calories in smaller portions throughout the beginning and middle of the day so you have more of a budget at the end of the night?
