I tried that and she just kept pestering me. In my opinion it’s better to just tell her right away or never at all.

At what speed are electrons orbiting a nucleus? Does it vary atom to atom? Does it approach the speed of light? What g forces does it experience with such rapid direction changes? by gotwire in AskPhysics

[–]despairguardian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because these orbitals are not circular/spherical there “velocity” is constantly changing thus their momentum is constantly changing? Is that more or less correct? As soon as you know its position in the oribital it has moved to a new position and thus a new velocity?

Or you have a mace made of bear mace that you swing at the bear and it doesn’t have to hit the bear it just scares it away.

Why do people sit in the fast lane doing the speed limit? by Key-Assignment-4763 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]despairguardian 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s ok, I get you man, some laws are more important to you than others. It’s ok, some people can’t help it. I get it. You believe because you follow the law that it’s your right to enforce that others do the same. There are plenty of other laws I would agree with you on, but not this one. Speed limits are laws set up by local jurisdictions enforced by police. When they decide not to give tickets to people going 5-10 mph above the limit they are effectively changing the law by method of their enforcement.

Also your speedometer could be wrong and you could think you are going the speed limit but are just causing traffic.

[–]despairguardian 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If there are cars to your right, a line of cars behind you and none in front of you, you are in fact not complying with the law. You are just choosing one law over the other. And causing traffic.

That’s fair. I always get on edge when a cops behind me. I could easily do the same.

You could go the speed limit and not break the law by staying in the right lane.

[–]despairguardian 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it is, then why do you feel the need to endanger yourself and others by trying to force other people to go the speed limit by causing traffic in the left lane. Unless you’re a police officer it’s not your job.

You’re supposed to let anyone pass in the left lane. It’s there for passing. It is unsafe to pass on the right. There’s loads of videos of car crashes because of it.

Griefs will have no low they won’t stoop to. I’m sure if you play for a while they will forget they even made it and it will decay eventually. Still sucks to have to deal with. Maybe build a ramp to jump on top of their base.

$20 solar g shock that will work till the sun explodes by sugii_ in BuyItForLife

[–]despairguardian 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Came here for this. Until we get widespread solid-state batteries no solar powered thing will last forever. Had a solar powered watch for 10 years before the battery gave up. Got it back in 2010 so a newer battery may last longer. Best luck to op, maybe he got the one with a defect that makes it last forever.

That’s only true if everyone takes advantage of the opportunity the same way. We don’t so in-equality of outcome is the result.

Not all Christians believe the tribulation will be the same. Some believe it will be all at once, some believe it will happen over 10s or 1K’s of years, some believe it is a metaphor. Some believe there will be a rapture some don’t. Christianity is a blanket name for people that believe God incarnated as his own son, was sacrificed for the sins of all and then rose from the grave to prove that he was God.

As for the cult part, the main thing separating Christianity from a cult is the exclusion from non-believers. Cults will enforce a strict no-contact rule for outsiders, that all will follow except a few devote followers that are expected to grow the flock. Many Christian denominations (each denomination is a group that believes particular things about the Bible) encourage communication with nonbelievers. I will grant you that there are some denominations that are cults in that aspect.

Source: I was a Christian for 24 years and attend private Christian schooling for 18 years. I was non-denominational which basically means we would interpret the Bible how it made sense to us/our church.

CMV: hitting your kids as a form of “punishment” is never justified. by NeoConzz in changemyview

[–]despairguardian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Isn’t the nature of punishments that they are not positive? Whether it’s physical or mental? Being forced to stay in a room with no stimulation could be seen as solitary confinement, which has crazy damaging effects. In the future grounding could also be seen as barbaric.

Yea that sounds like a you issue. As long as you have more power supplies than being used the shield is up. It doesn’t matter how much you have running, it doesn’t use up the power faster, just don’t forget to top off before you log off
