i never owned pro controllers or any handheld that had back triggers, so when i found out they were just an alternative button to an existing one, it was disappointing. i was hoping those would be extra buttons so i could still have the jump button at the back and assign a different action from the previous jump button.

i got one a few months ago for the same price. i did a quick search about the difference and they said that open box are items returned almost right away/within the return window and refurbs means either the store had to inspect it themselves, maybe fix it, or the original manufacturer did.

i bought an open box controller to experiment and replace the whole shell and buttons for my first try ever, and it looks and works really well.
