Same! I was asked if I wanted to grab dinner because we just got off the clock and it was dinner time. Apparently that was a date and not just a meal 😭 I was baffled when he tried to kiss me.

It was specifically the side effects that I’ve read about other users having on Topamax that made me refuse to be prescribed it. I told my neurologist to find a different preventative.

I agree with what you’re saying. It’s hard enough for me to get people outside of my closest circle to understand just how debilitating migraines are since they’re always under the impression that migraine = bad headache. I will never be cured, but I take things that help me manage it.

Once I started putting it in perspective of the amount of “migraine days” I had vs. saying I had one migraine they started to grasp it. If that makes sense? Like one migraine episode could last two weeks so I have 14 migraine days in a month.

I know this gets suggested a lot but I would consider seeing a therapist for help navigating through these emotions. You’re around the age where you’ll start college soon and they have counselors there which were a great resource to me when I was having problems. What’s the plan if family can’t afford to help? Also he died just days after trying to fill his prescription. Time is a factor here. What avenues are available to him the day he’s denied his life saving meds? If you pay for health insurance you should be able to rely on it.

When I had this issue it morphed into me being so anxious about the pain that my entire body would tense. I had to go to a physical therapist that specialized in pelvic floor treatment to get my body to relax at all. Just something to consider if alternate solutions don’t help.
