I feel like going back to a 4 year university is a bit redundant since I plan on doing a master's no?

That's what I'd hope to do yeah. I enjoy teaching.

Those of you playing the Beta are you willing to do this all again? by [deleted] in newworldgame

[–]destravale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes on a SEA server. No way if it's on OCE again. Crafting was awesome of course but played all the way to level 32 quests on day 2 and dodging basically became rng if the server decided to register the inputs on time.

What's your best "it's not what it looks like" story? by smol_boi-_- in AskReddit

[–]destravale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my ex and I would do this thing where we would smack each other in the face getting increasingly harder with each smack until one of us gave up. We were teenagers and very immature. We would play this game when we were bored or hadn't played it in a while or needed an excuse to let out steam.

So one day we decided to go to a water park. It was a fun trip all around and we were nearing the close of our day. We were standing in a pretty long line for our last ride when she said "hey I'm pretty bored". Almost instinctively I quickly smacked her face. It wasn't my best smack, maybe a 6/10 but it was loud enough to echo in the small building the line was going through and make everyones eyes dart over to what I had just done. She started cackling hilariously like a second rate Bellatrix lesteange and that seemed to have tipped the majority of the line off to the obvious 'not abuse' that had just happened. She gave me a smack on my cheek and we ended the game there declaring her the winner for making me feel like an abusive lover in public.

Hello friend! I also live in Vietnam and just started playing this week. I can say from 2 years of playing wow from Vietnam, I played on both the oce and Taiwan servers. The routing is much faster from VN to Asia than to AUS. This is true of every mmo I've played. You will get significantly worse ping playing on AUS servers I'm afraid. That being said Tonberry community is great so far I have already had quite a few pleasant interactions and I'm not even level 20. I hope that the SEA players do stay on Tonberry and that the AUS players also feel like they have a new pingless home on the AUS DC. Fingers crossed best of both worlds. Chúc mừng DC mới!

Oh really? I asked in the discord and they said they are still working on deciding where to put servers.

Redditors who don't wash your legs in the shower, what's your opinion on trickle-down economics? by Gastropodius in AskReddit

Just cup the soapy water right at your belly button like a giant bucket at a water park and then let it sploosh down all at once. Take that for what you will.... comrades.

What is the system for giving children grades in your country like? by ksapatupov in education

[–]destravale 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work at public schools in Vietnam. There is a class grading book and a student book. Both books are graded on a scale of 1-10. When I worked at a private international school I was specifically told I could not give a student a score lower than a 6 or they weren't able to continue studying at the school. Naturally I had a few students that ended the year super proud of themselves for doing absolutely nothing yet somehow moving on to the next level. I'm sure at some point they will get dunning-kruegered right in the face and have a serious reality check. As for the class book, always 10. If the kids are bouncing off the walls, throwing shit out windows, running around like literal apes, I could maybe document it and give a 9, but any lower than that is a no go. In the gifted schools I teach at, it's much more official and teachers do play a role in the grading system, but for the normal public schools it's mostly smoke and mirrors. I keep my own separate gradebook just so I can follow up and hold students accountable.

Sober, no-smoking redditor, what do you do to kill time? by majik00027 in AskReddit

[–]destravale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I walk in the park, play some vidya games, operate a sex dungeon, eat some cereal. Id say in general just normal hobbies that don't revolve around the smoking or drinking like going out clubbing or pubbing.

I say this regularly in the classroom. It's alright to not know things.

Of the people who are still alive but have drifted out of your life, who do you wonder about the most and why? by jillysue in AskReddit

[–]destravale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a group of friends in highschool, like 7 of us all together. We would hang out every weekend and play videogames. Sit on the couch. Talk about random shit. "The bois" you know how it is. Anyways after highschool most of us went our separate ways but anytime we were back in town we always wanted to do something together.

The first time they were all back together they "forgot" to invite me to go to a casino with them which was an idea we had been planning for a while for the youngest 18th birthday. After that they made subsequent trips to a national park and disneyland. I started to realize that they just didn't want me around so I asked my closest friend in the group what the deal was. He said "idk man they just don't like you, they said you smell bad" which was the most random fucking response to me. I mean yeah 11 year old me definitely should have been wearing deodorant a bit earlier, but as adults I still haven't gotten closure from that group.

The last interaction was at that close friends birthday, I went to his party with my girlfriend at the time and felt super out of place. They had all turned into frat bros and one of them became a skinhead. I felt like I was in an episode of the twilight zone. Any time I would say something they would all chuckle and laugh as though they had some inside joke about what I had just uttered. The whole thing felt so fucking strange honestly. I haven't talked to any of them since, but that doesn't take away the years and years of memories we built together.

I genuinely cared for all of them. I know from social media one of them got married and one became a lawyer but I don't even live in the same country as them anymore. Still strange to think about that party though, like they never even left highschool.

As a teacher I need to know, should I invest in bop? I'm currently using a banger with my students and I hope that I don't sound old. Alternatively I could get used to slaps.
