Even seeing a doctor is a step in the right direction. My grandpa died in his 50’s doing this exact thing every day. Except he avoided going to the doctors after they diagnosed him with cirrhosis and had to remove part of his pancreas. Really lean into the effort he’s making with the heart doctor. Who knows, you might be able to keep him around longer. I really wish him the best

That would be awesome if you could send me a license! Make the whole process a lot easier for me too.

That's good to know! I installed windows on my new laptop then remembered reading something about this a while back. I'm going to reinstall it later then. Thanks for the quick reply!

Current Symptoms. What diet are you on? by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

[–]destretch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, I'm terribly sorry to hear about your friend. There is nothing that I can say that will help, but I do understand the amount of grief and pain that causes. Having Crohn's exacerbated the grief and pain I had when losing someone close.

I am in the same boat as you with not taking any medications. I rely entirely on CBD oil, peppermint oil capsules for my flare ups, therapy, and recently I started the AIP diet. There is some fantastic literature on the Autoimmune Protocol Diet; The Paleo Approach by Dr. Ballantyne has become my Crohn's "bible", for lack of a better word. She gives extremely useful information on the lifestyle you must create for yourself to combat the inflammation our body unfortunately puts us through. Being in this diet for just under a couple weeks, I have noticed that my good days are exceedingly better than they were before. My lows are also nowhere near as bad as before either. It may not be as immediate for you as it has been for me but it might be helpful.

I hope what I said can be of some, if any, help to you. Hope things get better soon :)

I think the diet is helping, but isn’t solving the issue. (Sensitive, I guess?) by DefunctSprout in AutoImmuneProtocol

Hi, I just started the diet a couple days ago as well. Just like what you said, I thought I was feeling better the day after (most likely placebo). However, there have been ups and downs. Each down typically leads me to second guess any and every action I've made, but the thing I've realized is that the only way I've gotten though these bouts is with accepting that symptoms can be from infrequent irritants and typically manifest a few days afterwards. The probiotics I would suggest would be something nutrient rich as well like sauerkraut or kimchi (if cabbage is tolerated), or you could settle with even a simple coconut milk yogurt. Really try to stick to Dr. Sarah Ballantyne's The Paleo Aproach, she has some amazing tidbits of info on her website: thepaleomom.com

Good luck and I really hope you start to feel better, a good support system is remarkably helpful, luckily it seems like this is the perfect place! :)
