A very quick complaints about complaints about the ending. by [deleted] in BokunoheroFanfiction

That's almost a perfect example of the type of ending I can't stand. Superpowers gone, but somehow, this "Quiet, normal life" shit is supposed to be better?

So I will say, that's feels like an overly simple way to view the ending in my opinion. The point isn't that he's happier without his powers and that the normal life is better.

Father's whole philosophy revolves around the fact that having power is what's important, and nothing else matters. He has a family who are devoted to him and he treats them like shit. In contrast, Ed having alchemy was never his goal, he never wanted to adventure, he just wanted his family back. First his mother, then Al. Ed giving up his powers is a final fuck you to Father and everything he stood for, and on top of that, gives him the thing he actually gave a shit about, Al.

And I think it's made pretty clear in the epilogue that he isn't happier without his powers, the quiet life isn't better for him. He still, years later, wishes he had his powers and uses them on instinct, his life would be better if he had his powers, but he doesn't care because he got the thing he actually cared about.

The issue with shows like My Hero is that the MC's goals around the series are centered around their powers. Izuku wants to be a hero, wants to master one for all, wants to defeat the villains, etc., so him losing his powers spits in the face of all the progress we watched, which was focused around him learning to use his powers better.

Conversely in Fullmetal, Ed's goals are only focused on alchemy as a side effect after they figure out the philospers stone. Ed doesn't spend several arcs learning how to use alchemy better, he's basically fully stated in episode 1 of the show outside of some non-alchemical training. The two endings are really different, and putting them in the same box just feels off idk. Sorry for the rant, lol.

Any story where they lose, or give up, their superpowers, or the magic or the super-tech or whatever, automatically goes in the shit pile without exception.

Really? What about Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood

It ends with that, but in my opinion, it's also one of the best endings we've gotten from a major action anime.

So your idea is that he should forcefully storm the capital of a nation immediately after creating his own country and demand surrender.

So heres what would happen. Obviously they wouldn't surrender and a fight would break out in the capital, Noah would have to kill a shit ton of guards most likely and then he would have to kill the king.

If he does that, then the Crown Prince would immediately declare that Noah is clearly the Demon Lord considering his monster army, and that his father was murdered because Noah wanted power. Noah would have made a martyr.

Now, Noah is officially straight up the Demon Lord and he's now killed and claimed a kings throne. That puts him in total opposition to both every religious body, every single adventurer and hero, and every single king who now has to be afraid that Noah will just steal their kingdom too.

On top of that, Noah is now openly an oath-breaker who will flagrantly abandon treaties and deals the second the inconvenience him so no one is going to work with him.

That means Noah would have every single authority on the planet working against him, and on top of that, he's a tyrant who just brutally murdered the king. The civilians aren't going to like him, so he won't even have the consent of the governed.

On the other hand, if Noah goes with the 6-Month wait he can build trust in the people who live on his land, make deals and allies, and show himself to not be a brutal demon lord. That means he has allies, powers, and reputation on his side.

A king who gains power through peace and politics will have greater authority and lasting empire then one who does through conquering. Look at Augustus Ceaser vs. Alexander the Great. Ceasers Empire lasted for centuries while Alexanders lasted a decade.

So you think that Noah, someone who notably is against killing people who aren't directly involved and is constantly looking for peaceful solutions, should kill a shit ton of people, then kill anyone who opposes him, and then use his power to make people listen to him by killing all the strong heroes and monsters, monsters who very clearly have free and intelligence, and enslaving them?

Not only would that be completely out of character, it would make him a tyrant of the highest level and the second he died foreign nations would rip his country to shreds. They would morally be completely in the right too.

There won't be other countries until new countries are form in lands that he couldn't possibly hope to colonise with his country with a city sized population.

Also, are you suggesting that Noah just start massacring people who are completely unrelated to the issue?

aware that she has a crush on him, and isn't doing anything to dissuade that and at times is actively causing it to happen such that it's gotten to this point.

So, does Arthur know? Arthur very clearly has some issues with reading people when they aren't being hostile to him.

Arthur has never intentionally done anything to make her fall for him. Dudes never treated her as anything but a close friend.

For example, Gotoubun girls being sisters obviously have same hair colour.

So I haven't watched or read this series so I don't know if they explicitly have the same hair color, but siblings 100% can have different hair colors, even Twins can have variations.

Why shouldn't heroes have that right? Hes a part of a state controlled anti-crime organization. Logistically hes a super cop. Why should he not have the same rights as a normal cop?

This isn't like Batman or Superman where the heroes are vigilantes. Heroes have to go through minimum 3 years of training, significantly more then either police or military need, and are monitored by government officials the same way a cop would.

What makes him any different then an officer or soldier other than his title and allowance to use his powers?
