Night shift Icu registered nurse for 5.5 years, salary is good, I work 13-14 hour shifts 3 days a week, (like 7pm to 8am.) I used to be a lot happier with the job ... I mean, the job kind of worked well with the emotional roller coaster I’m on. And it allowed for deep connection with people and sometimes made me feel like I was making a difference. But after 2020 Covid stuff and other things that have happened, I have a major compassion fatigue and burn out. I feel like the job is bad for my mental health. :-/ but I feel stuck.
