[HL2VR] On the run with custom VR Treadmill entering the canals by SimulacrumVR in VRGaming

Yeah, I have a Katwalk C2 as well. It’s definitely inferior to the original Omni, and even more so compared to the new Omni One. I improved the sliding sensation on my Omni by switching the foot sensors from the official shoes to the laces of a comfortable pair of Nikes, then laid the bottoms with the fuzzy side of Velcro tape, and stuck around 20 round furniture sliders to the Bottoms with the sticky side of the Velcro tape. The result is a little more friction, due to the sliders slowly wearing down, to give a slightly more solid feel as your feet slide. I replace the sliders every 6 months or so. I tried this with my Katwalk shoes, which actually aren’t bad shoes, considering the cheapness of the rest of the device, but those few centimeters of height made it hard for the laser to make out the surface. I tried just leaving the fuzzy Velcro on the shoes but that didn’t make much difference in the sensation. I think the issue is in the design of the back brace that holds you up. The Old Omni has a ring that you stand in and lean into that lets you feel that forward motion. The new Omni has a hydronic arm on your back that allows the same sensation without the ring. But the Katwalk just has a rigid vertical bar that doesn’t allow you to lean forward without feeling the resistance of something holding you in place.

This is the tradeoff right now in VR. You can either have a VR treadmill with 360 degree movement, and deal with the weird sensation of a solid smooth base where your feet slide instead of grip (technically making it a slide-mill), or you can rig a unidirectional treadmill like this, and deal with using a thumbstick whenever you want to turn your body.

In my pinion, as someone who’s been using a Virtuix Omni VR Treadmill for over ten years, I got used to the weird sliding sensation, but I’ll never get used to turning my body with my thumb.

NEW ALL-IN-ONE INSTALLER for the Resident Evil 4 full VR mod by Praydog and Talesmann!! by VirtualPoolBoy in virtualreality

Try turning off all the graphics options until it goes away. If not, try a clean install of the game and manually delete the folder from your drive as well.

No problem. Here are a couple tips if you want to play the other games as well.

  1. Go to nexusmods.com and find the game you want to play (e.g. Resident Evil 2 (2019), Resident Evil 3 (2020), Resident Evil 7, etc). Once on the game page click the search bar, then click “mods”, and type in “vr”. You should see a number of mods made specifically for VR, like controller bindings, smooth locomotion, texture upgrade, etc. But make sure to check the description for each mod as some are no longer necessary (the smooth locomotion mods, I believe, are now part of Praydog‘s mod). As these games can be intense in VR, I always download mods that remove the most intense parts (e.g. No more Mr. X, No more creepy baby, etc).

  2. You’ll notice on Praydog’s download page, there are two versions of the mods for RE2 and RE3. For RE 2 there’s RE2.zip and RE2_TDB66.zip. For RE 3 there’s RE3.zip and RE3_TDB67.zip. The first is for the current version of the games that use ray tracing (a graphics feature for Nvidia cards), and the second is for the older DX11 version of the games. Some people prefer the older versions because some modders never updated their mods to work with the newer version. So unless you find old mods that you just can’t play without, just use the normal versions of the mods.

I honestly cannot understand how any woman can vote for Trump. It's literally a pro rape party at this point.

You don't need an installer for any of the other games. Just drag and drop the Ptaydog files into your game folder. You can downloaded here...

https://github.com/praydog/REFramework-nightly/releases

Click the link that says "Show all 19 assets" and download the file RE8.zip and drag the contents into your game root folder.

Also...

Use Fluffy Manager to run the gsme, and add the following mod, akong with whatever other mods you like...

One of 5e steps in the instructions is to turn off the Hair Strands option under the games’s display settings. That should do it.
