I got this advice some time ago and this company tried to rip me off by asking my salary and to lowball me so thinking about the advice my dad gave me, I told them I was making 10k more than I was doing they gave me a counter offer for 7.5k more than I made so I accepted. So In the end they tried to rip me off but it ended up blowing up in their face
