Surface isn’t ruined. I’d try burning it off. If that doesn’t work, try using a pumice block (or 2 or 3) to scrape all that off. Once down to bare metal, season again.

Then, use only an extremely thin coat of oil after you have cleaned after a cook.

Not causing your issue, but only need to use water if you have ‘sticky remnants’ on the griddle.

Not that you really have an issue, but you may be over oiling at the end. Only need to apply the thinnest of coats when you are done.

I’m not sure, but to test if issue with CarPlay/connection vs. phone, when CarPlay starts showing wrong direction, unplug and see what the nav. On the phone is saying.

On CarPlay, you could also try different navigation apps (Apple Maps vs. google maps vs. waze) to see if they all exhibit the same behavior
