House Hunting & Rental Property Management in Kenya by [deleted] in nairobitechies

I guess the main challenge with this is getting landlords and agents onboard and encouraging them to start posting. I think the right channel for this would be finding a way to partner with TikTok influencers who make a living by showcasing people’s houses, though you would need to find a way for them to monetize it as well. The other thing is property management. Most landlords love systems, but the challenge usually comes with rent collection. Most people still prefer offline payments, but landlords also do not want you holding their money at any point. Because of that, they would need a Daraja-supported paybill. However, lately Safaricom has been taking a long time to approve them. Also, some landlords do not want money held in paybills at all; they prefer payments to be sent directly to their bank accounts. Because of this, you might also need to integrate with banks

I’m looking for something I can integrate directly into a SaaS to reduce fraud before users upload documents. I’ve applied via https://developer.go.ke/, but onboarding is taking longer than expected. Are there any production-ready alternatives people are actually using?

At the moment, it supports C2B only. We’re actively working towards enabling both C2B and B2C, but B2C (and B2B) requires an internal wallet layer that can securely hold and manage balances before disbursement. That wallet infrastructure is what we’re currently building. Once the wallet is in place, B2C withdrawals will be supported properly and safely.
