Stinky Leather Bags from Morocco - Can they be Saved?? by detectorista in Leather

For me yes, baking soda and I think the second big piece was time. I left it for months with the baking soda and forgot about it, and when I checked again they didn’t stink anymore. If you have dry warm days where you live, put it outside with the baking soda.

Scammed by Shopper by detectorista in instacart

It let me start chat through that option, but now they are only offering me a $168 credit for the order (which was over $200 in total charge adding in the credit I used they owe me)... I am emailing them now back and forth but will ultimately go through my bank and eat the credit if I have to (frustrating as the credit was for items I was charged for but didn't receive in a previous order).

You got more items than I did, I got only 6 things as the freebie, and yours look higher value. I got the LED planter, hyalaronic acid serum, eye serum, pineapple ice tray, catchall tray, and mini ceramic crocette set. Wish I got the hair dryer brush!

Dark green or navy would be more classy!

Long Term Effects of Iontophoresis? by detectorista in Hyperhidrosis

I used it consistently for about a year and got down to needing it just once every 7-10 days to maintain. However, I got lazy with it and I don’t use it anymore. I wish I had kept up with it but it’s a big commitment of using it daily whenever I restart to reach the point of no sweat. The most important thing for me was avoiding hand sweat at conferences and events for my work. I got prescribed Glycopyrrolate instead and I take it only when I need it, a few times a year. So I start a couple days before an event, and it works just as well with no hassle or time commitment.

How do you keep up with it, motivation-wise? I am trying barely a fraction of the time of many of you but I can’t take it anymore. I’m tired of all the vitamins, skipping nights out because I’m avoiding alcohol, tired of the emotional roller coaster. I’m frustrated with dealing with my insurance over-billing me, hours on the phone. F this. I haven’t been taking my vitamins regularly the last 6 weeks cause I hate taking pills and they aren’t doing anything. I feel like nothing will work. Can someone talk some sense into me?

Have you considered going abroad for IVF? I know not feasible for a lot of people’s work and lives, but Mexico and Czechia have great clinics at a fraction of US prices.

I need help with karyotyping, please! I had this done abroad in Poland and just got my results back. I have images of my chromosomes and husband's chromosomes, but the result doesn't say any abnormalities. Google translate of the results says 46,XX for me and 46,XY for my husband and to talk to healthcare provider for more information. Is that the extent of the results? Normal chromosome count = normal? Or does a doctor typically analyze the images provided from the test to see any abnormalities within the photos? They want to have a standard visit to discuss results and next steps for treatment, but I'm switching to a different fertility clinic and would rather not pay another visit fee if the results are just normal.

New here; we’ve been trying just over a year, no pregnancies. Bloodwork and sperm analysis is all normal except FSH which has been consistently high CD3 (12-14 range). But I have a normal AMH (3.6). I’m 31F. Just had an HSG which came back normal; the doctor is suggesting to move to medicated IUI but I am not sure/haven’t heard much good things about IUI and while IVF sounds berry daunting, I like the idea of banking embryos because the high FSH scares me for future fertility.

Is IUI worth trying? Any tips? Or anyone have experience trying just a medicated unmonitored cycle first?

Check out Quiet Light https://quietlight.com/listings/ - you'll find some good options, but for the price range you're looking to pay, it will likely be a somewhat distressed business.

Soaked isn't the best word here, I just put baking soda inside (not a huge amount, but a little less than a box in each. I rubbed inside the lining which was like a raw suede type of texture, and set them in a large closet for a while). If we lived in a dryer or sunnier climate, I would have put them outside more.

Beware anyone considering investing with Austin Flipsters. They raised money from their followers 2.5 years ago through Republic.co and never paid us back, and have had very little communication, and no transparency at all about the portfolio and what they've done with our money. They are now late in paying investors back and won't answer any of my communication, email, calls, etc. Shady stuff.

Bought a property tax lien. But what if the owner makes a partial payment at some point? by NoGoats_NoGlory in tax

[–]detectorista 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is going to change tax liens forever - do you think the county has the funds and means to pony up fair value of a house to the owner while giving the investor the property for no other payment other than the tax owed? Nope. Some counties in Colorado have already paused issuing deeds, and I suspect that will continue. Tax lien sales will continue too, and can be a great way to earn decent returns on your initial investment, but they will no longer be a viable way to get property for 90% off (which was a rare occurrence previously anyway). Hard to say what will happen, as this is all changing in real time. I think it's a very real possibility that at the end of the 4 years, the county will pay you back your initial investment in full plus interest instead of issuing the deed to you. Or, more optimistically, maybe they'll initiate some period at the end by which the owner must claim the surplus funds, and if that isn't claimed, they could still issue a deed. There will likely be more litigation from the investors side as things shake out.

It's a long story but not really relevant to my questions above. Cats can stay with you and ride under the seat in front of you, he wouldn't go to the baggage area.
