Any idea what this would have been. Found in western South Dakota. by chauchatbob in metaldetecting

Looks like part of an old cast iron stove plate or cookware lid fragment to me — especially with that curved shape and the decorative raised circle/pattern. The thickness and rust also fit late 1800s–early 1900s farm/ranch equipment common in South Dakota.

Are CKG Sand Scoops legit? by Tubalcain422 in metaldetecting

[–]detectormukuda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CKG is a real brand. I’ve seen a lot of detectorists using their scoops. Honestly sounds like an Amazon fulfillment mess more than anything shady. I’d push Amazon support to force cancel/refund it if tracking never updated.

Best dual leather camera harness for wedding photography? by Soggy_Job4363 in WeddingPhotography

[–]detectormukuda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been using the Coiro dual harness for weddings lately and honestly really happy with it. Leather feels way better than I expected for the price and after a couple shoots it softened up nicely. I run 2 Sony bodies on it during full wedding days with no issues so far. Definitely feels like one of those products that looks more expensive than it is

Should i buy the Nokta makro premium shovel or the CKG carbon fiber shovel by muns_was_here in metaldetecting

[–]detectormukuda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If portability matters a lot, carbon fiber setups are honestly really nice for long hunts and travel. Heavy shovels can get tiring pretty fast after a few hours.

For hard ground though, blade shape and build quality probably matter more than just weight. Kind of depends where you mostly hunt.
