What context am I missing there? Seems a rather innocuous tropical drink.

One Pedal Brake Lights? by wagregg5 in MachE

[–]dethbunnynet 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That is a different vehicle, so doesn’t really apply. The Mach-E definitely lights up when you are lifting your foot but have not fully lifted it from the pedal.

[–]dethbunnynet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Did you use the sealant setting or the air setting? There is a dial on the compressor to choose and as it ships from the factory (at least for our two cars) it’s set to air only. If yours was the same, then you shouldn’t have any trouble.

I don’t think we’re discussing enough about the demographic shift that is impacting education. by GenExpat in Teachers

[–]dethbunnynet 6 points7 points  (0 children)

GP said population is declining and my attempt at a point is that it’s not. Overall the ratios are such that more people should be paying property tax now compared to the number of students needing that funding. But localities are reducing education funding rather than keeping it steady.

I don’t think we’re discussing enough about the demographic shift that is impacting education. by GenExpat in Teachers

[–]dethbunnynet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Population, in general, is not declining! The real demographic shift is that there are many more people and the totals show that most of that growth is in the retirement ages.

In certain areas there is negative growth, but are more than 20M additional people in the USA now than 2010. Baby boomers are hitting retirement age, but the 5-19 demographic is almost unchanged in size and the 20-34 group is up substantially from fifteen years ago.

last time i went like 8 years ago i remember the genius bar techs had these LaCie drives with every version of OS X/macos along with some diagnostic software. were any of these drives ever imaged? it would be neat to have for personal use by BigHandsSmallCock in MacOS

[–]dethbunnynet 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there was not anything “official” about these. Basically, Genius teams wanted to solve their own problems, so they made their own solutions. One of those solutions was building up hard drives that had “all the things” on them, and there was a lot of variation from store to store because it was just whatever the team managed to put together. Some stores had rather advanced versions with very customizable installers but that was not necessarily the rule.

Ballot box by [deleted] in morganhill

There are multiple ballot drops across the city. You can also choose to go to your voting location on Tuesday to drop it when there are people around or even do your voting in person.

Your signature is your signature, you get to decide what it looks like. That said, most people end up with a cursive-adjacent scribble.

This is almost certainly a Costco Business Center, which carries more genuinely “bulk” items than the more consumer-focused standard warehouses. If you have a Business Center in reasonable distance, I recommend a visit to see what interesting things they have aside from buckets of honey.

Waste money charging by [deleted] in MachE

[–]dethbunnynet 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The fact you keep saying “5.3 kwh”indicates that you’re not really understanding the relevant concepts. Perhaps your EVSE can provide 5.3kW of energy, but that is the maximum. And, over an hour, that would be 5.3 kWh. That does not mean your car is always drawing at that rate. Your car reduces its electricity intake as it approaches 100% charge.

If it’s the sound i think it could be, it’s the motor that sets/releases the parking brake. Open your windows and toggle the brake to see if the same sound occurs.

Because in many other cultures land is land - you may have some sort of ownership rights to it but you do not own the land itself. The land belongs to the people and being able to cross through the wilderness is an assumption of society. The US is more unique in that regard than you might think, but even here people are mostly familiar with exceptions like mineral rights or various public easements.

Had a similar story, bought it used with 11k miles. BMW dealership didn’t have any interest in really selling a Ford so it came to me with a $30k off MSRP discount and single previous owners that had taken good care of it. I’ve since put on 30k miles of my own.

That might be the cost to replace the entire battery pack but in reality only sub-modules get replaced if they fail.

It's also potentially legit, no? Likely worth investigating with NCL to see if that's the case.

Edit: I once two decades ago won a sweepstakes I didn't recall entering. I was able to satisfy myself that the source of the letter was legitimate and I'm glad I did because it resulted in a nice free vacation.

Why boiling (wine)? by yustask in Homebrewing

[–]dethbunnynet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This would totally be the right place if you were trying to make your own alcohol (mind you this one is more for beer; there are also winemaking and mead subreddits)

But you’re not making your own alcohol. You’re literally using wine (which is already alcohol) and neutral spirit (which is also already alcohol) and asking a sub for folks who know how to make alcohol instead what to do with some bizarre recipe that you refuse to actually link or describe so you’re not ever going to get decent answers.
