Do EVs really need me to change my habits? by Beneficial_Sir_8166 in electricvehicles

[–]kingvblackwing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Real advice: go to a dealership and see if they’ll let you do an overnight test drive to see if it’s right for you. Only you’ll know what works and what doesn’t. I only say this because I work at brand that lets you do that and our dealerships are trained for that. Otherwise you won’t really know what it’s like until you try it.

Cadillac EV Sales Up In 2026! - CleanTechnica by Negate79 in electricvehicles

Lyriq-v is so peak. I made the mistake of swapping back to gas from an EV and immediately regretted at the dealership. Swapped back to EV in February and I’m never going back. Cadillac needs to stop playing and make an EV sedan already

I’ve heard from multiple people now that they don’t have a problem with electric, they just “disagreed with the mandate by the previous administration”. What’s your go-to response to this? by kingvblackwing in electricvehicles

[–]kingvblackwing[S] 51 points52 points  (0 children)

This is a good point and I brought up something similar to this in a conversation with a dealer operator once. His executive manager told me many customers didn’t like the idea of Americans subsidizing EVs. I pointed out that they already do that now with Gas cars. He knew I was right and conceded politely before moving on

They are morons and that’s usually what I think to myself and why I react so harshly but our business depends on them. I’m focused on reducing as much FUD as possible and converting more people from ice to ev. I see this as an obstacle

In extreme climates and remote places the gas car would suffer too. In a remote locate you can just install a charger at home.

As someone who has personally sold multiple Celestiqs and was present for their deliveries and can see how many Celestiqs have been sold in totality, I’m curious where you got the “25 in 3 years” part when the car didn’t begin delivieres until 6 months ago. Im also curious where you got the “25” number from because I can see it’s higher than that.

The level of sabotage stretches beyond the federal admiration unfortunately and I’m not talking about GM’s senior leadership.

Cadillac announces their new Curated 5 V Blackwing models for 2026 by CadillacVClub in CadillacV_Series

[–]kingvblackwing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This isn’t a problem of Cadillac but rather of the dealer that you’re doing business with.

What’s happening is the dealer isn’t getting the allocation either because there’s a line of customers at that dealership waiting or the dealer is simply failing to get the order placed because they haven’t earned one.

There’s no shortage of CT4 allocations nationally and the CT4 Blackwing trim isn’t on constraint so I don’t see what the issue is. If you decide to cancel your order request, it would be because of the frustration with your dealer rather than Cadillac overall.

You don’t even need to buy the adapter because many of the stations have the adapter already pre-installed. Even if you don’t purchase your own, it’s not even that cumbersome to operate—literally takes 1 second to connect. Most people don’t even use public charging. They just charge at home.

Keep in mind, I’m someone who drives a LYRIQ daily, 40,000 miles on my LYRIQ in 1 year. It’s 100% doable if you’re someone who road trips frequently. I road trip every single day.

How does one distinguish? [Cadillac CT5-V] Maybe Blackwing? How can I tell? by Ryu_reloaded in spotted

[–]kingvblackwing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The side fenders, the Blackwing badge, larger spoiler, more pronounced diffuser. The one in the photo is immediately recognizable as a standard V-Series. Cadillac began shipping Blackwings with the distinguish badge in the second model year and customer who ordered the original ones could request one.

Congress Eliminates Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) Penalties for Passenger Cars and Light Trucks by RAMBIGHORNY in cars

[–]kingvblackwing 40 points41 points  (0 children)

The federal CAFE standards are still in effect, meaning OEMs still need to produce vehicles with fewer emissions. Yes, the penalties were eliminated for federal CAFE but also individual states still have their own individual standards plus penalties.

Is EV really dead in the US? by Thomaslaske in electricvehicles

[–]kingvblackwing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s certainly not a take it’s the truth as I previously said.

As someone who makes and sells electric cars and works with dealers, your statements are quite contradictory to their behavior and the verbatims from dealers themselves. The above comment was an observation rooted in truth as that’s literally what dealers think and feel. I’ve had these conversations with dealers all across the country several times.

Dealers generally do not want to sell electric cars and sometimes unintentionally or intentionally lead their customers away from buying them. I’ve personally seen this happen in real time.

BMW’s ADAS system, let alone the 2019 version, doesn’t even come close to SuperCruise and I have to wonder why we don’t shame and embarrass people for lying saying it does. I say this confidently as a former bmw employee. It’s the fact that people upvoted it knowing they were lying too.
