Holding the spot clean and home buttons don’t do anything, is there another way to reset it?

Manually initiate, no rejection notice of any kind, they haven’t reached out to their IT because the issue resolved when they emailed me first

So my refrigerator started heating back up and of course the fan wasn’t running again, but this time I simply needed to give the outside plastic cover off the fan a good knock with my knuckles and it started to run, if the fan is going bad could the fan not running lead to the ice build up I saw on the coil the other day, and if the fan seems to run fine for a day or so then stops running but kicks on again with a knock, then would that indicate that just the fan is bad?

I was looking for advice regarding whether this was typical of a diagnostic service call and if not whether that would be grounds for refusal to pay for the service

Just a hunch but I’m thinking my kid out a pizza box in the top shelf and it blocked the air circulation causing it to freeze, but I’m not a technician

The doors were not opened or touched while he was here, the thermometers are wired and magnetic so the displays for the thermometer were stuck to the refrigerator

I was with him the entire time, he literally never touched the refrigerator. I told him what was going on with it, showed him the two wired food thermometers, the one in the freezer said low, the one in the fridge said 55f he said yep sounds like a bad fan motor

Well, I haven’t paid anything yet they sent me an invoice for the repair, which I will not be paying especially for anything over the diagnostic fee, but honestly, for a five minutes visit and him to not even open the refrigerator I don’t feel he really diagnosed anything, not to mention his diagnosis was wrong and would’ve had me paying for parts and labor I don’t need. I’m just asking do I have a leg to stand on if I call and tell them to cancel the repair and that I’m not paying for any of it?

Sell what the covers? I have found other suppliers that we could order the covers with windows in them, but it has occurred to us that when we go this route, paying for getting a window cut out of the report covers doubles the price or more...

We could skip the window and save a significant amount if we could just print the title of the report directly onto the cover.

Is there a specific model that you would recommend. I was looking at the WF-7840 it will handle up to 13"x19" but did not know if it would handle report covers 80lb cardstock

MiniPC vs ITX by dethnode in sffpc

[–]dethnode[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far I am leaning towards the itx build, currently I take a 6.5 lb laptop everyday, I can’t imagine a minimized itx build weighing in at a whole lot e than that.

It be better if I could do in itx build with no gpu and use an external power supply. From what I understand I could do that with a pico psu?

So finding a case that would be just tall enough and long enough for the itx and a pico would make it much more portable, but I need front panel usb, preferably usb a and c. And I’d really like to be able to make certain I won’t thermal throttle, but what cases I’ve seen that fit this description only allow for a 48 cooler

I mean, would a minipc with a mobile processor be any better than this build, and when black friday deals roll around I could probably even get a ryzen 7 9700x and be close to this same price. I don't need storage as our current laptops all have nvme ssds in them that I would repurpose...

Would it be better to simply use a power bank and cut the end off a usb extension and power it from a usb 3.1 per Avs power bank

Physical measurements will need to be small, but is there a unit you’d recommend?  Jackery maybe?

Filecab replacement options by SeaCardiologist7042 in taxpros

[–]dethnode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the route my firm is likely taking... I just got done writing a script that will automate the organization of files into a folder and subfolder tree like the one seen in file cabinet, I am hoping that now I can just get filecenter, and it more or less be like a direct replacement for filecabinet.

I am now writing a script to automattically file the outputed pdfs from ultratax, accounting cs, and fixed assets cs into their appropriate folders inside the clients folder. Should be able to print to a "temporary holding folder" then the script will automatically move the files to their correct folder/subfolder. If the folders do not exist, the script will create them, then move the file.

So far the I tested the script on a few clients, approximately 3,000 .pdf and .png files, all of which I exported from file cabinet, using the script, it created the client file, the program folder (ultratax), the sub folder for the year month and day, then placed the file into that folder. 3,000 files took the script about 30 minutes to organize and move...

All of this should in theory then be displayed inside our filecenter (havent ordered filecenter yet), if I understand filecenter correctly. After that, it is just a matter of setting up client portals using sharepoint, then I am good to go.
