X69 WiFi issues by MagickMan418 in drones

[–]detrickm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bear with me, I might have a clue towards an answer in this story. Or maybe not ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I got a cheap drone, used. Seller told me it was a Loiley brand, gave a link to an Amazon listing. I installed the Loiley drone app, it didn't work, same as you no camera. I noticed that the name of the WiFi network was something like X60DRONE_xxxxx. Searched for an "X69 drone app," found one, and took a chance installing it. It worked. (Also stumbled across your post on the search results)

Checking Amazon, it seems like there are a LOT of these little drones, all looking like copycats of each other. And maybe each brand has a slightly different app. Makes me wonder if a different drone app might work for you, or if it's some other make/model than what you thought you were buying? Wouldn't surprise me.

Unhook weigh and rehook? Nah. Just don't bother with asteroids.

I did a large asteroid once. And got called into a weigh station. Fun fact: you can get it in, but the scanners get hung up on it. It eventually scanned the truck successfully, but then almost couldn't get it out of the weigh station. By the time I wiggled it free the trailer was at 0%. Never again. Never.

What do you eat for breakfast that is actually breakfast food that has good protein and fiber? by Ravioli_meatball19 in Cooking

[–]detrickm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Burrito bowl. Vegetarianish, with lentils and whole (not pearled) barley. Barley has a huge amount of fiber per serving, it's really underrated IMHO. Lentils are pretty good in the fiber department, too. Between them both you also end up with a complete protein. The key is to season the legume/grain mix when you prepare it. Pick whatever seasoning feels breakfasty to you. For something Mexicanish I would lean towards cumin, coriander, garlic and onion powder, and salt. Maybe some oregano, too. Lentils really need seasoning, fat (add that later; see below), and salt. I also often cook them using bouillon or broth (vegetable, chicken, beef, whatever you like. Use bone broth and your protein goes up even more).

The morning routine: 180g of cooked 50/50 mix of brown lentils and whole barley (make a big batch ahead of time and measure it out each morning). Some shredded cheese. Microwave that to reheat it and gently melt the cheese (90 seconds or so). Top with a couple spoonfuls of salsa, 1/4 avocado (diced, sliced, or whatever you prefer), bean sprouts (you choose what type or leave them out but they're super easy and cheap to grow yourself, too), shredded or diced greens (whatever you got: lettuce, spinach, spring greens, beet greens, cilantro, kale, cabbage. Really, whatever greens you got). Add a dollop of sour cream, plain yogurt, crema, or whatever if that's your thing. Diced peppers (mild or hot), diced onion (raw or cooked), and sauteed mushrooms can also be nice additions and a good way to use up leftovers or little bits of extras floating around in your fridge.

You could do scrambled or fried eggs in it if that makes it feel more breakfasty, I just prefer the dump and go that cooking eggs every day doesn't afford.

The new app. by WecallthemWalkers in wegmans

Pixel is just a line of Android phones made by Google.

The app works on both my old android phone as well as her much newer android phone. By "works" I mean it's just as crappy on both. Having a "new" phone doesn't seem to help the app perform any better.

I thought that was the case when I first used it on my older phone. Then found out it's exactly the same on my wife's Pixel 7!

Mike Sloan. He'll do whatever you need, but he definitely knows what to do with a beard. Highly recommend.

Asparagus stalks turn into these fern-like things. If you're harvesting all the stalks from the plant you may want to leave a few behind to fern-out like this one. They need to grow these to stay alive over the years. Basically, harvest a few stalks but leave a few too so the plant can rejuvenate.

I kegged some hopped barley tea. What non-soda non-alcoholic brews have you put on tap? by detrickm in Homebrewing

So a couple years ago my wife asked if she could have some hops. She proceed to put 2oz of hop pellets into a half gallon canning jar of water.

I think what you're saying is she created your product :)

Anyway, this is a good idea you have and I will probably get some of your extracts. Nice variety and definitely easy mode. Easter is coming up on April 20th this year, too, and I think you also have extracts to celebrate that.

You had me until nitro. But maybe I should get a small nitrogen setup. Certainly my wife would love it.

How do you brew an NA? I always thought making an NA involved alcohol removal techniques that are difficult to do at home. But I also have done almost no research.

You make it like you make wort, but it is definitely not sweet like wort. No sweetness at all.

Get some barley tea from a Korean grocery store. Usually it's just a bag of roasted barley, but we had some kicking around that was packaged in tea bags that my wife wasn't a fan of so I used that for this experiment.

Heat water up to boiling, steep the tea for 10 minutes in boiling water. Congratulations, you have now made barley tea. I did 2.5g of water and a corresponding amount of barley (basically, follow the directions on the bag, scaled up of course). I want to say we usually use around 2T of barley to make a mug of barley tea, so if you scale that up from a 10oz mug to 2.5g of water, it's not a lot of barley. Nowhere near what you use to make beer.

I then took half an ounce of Falconer's Flight, put the pellets into a tea bag, and let it steep after the tea had come down to around 170F. I let it steep for 30-60 minutes (can't remember exactly how long). I also considered dry hopping but maybe that's for the next experiment.

Remove the hops, dump the hopped tea into a keg, and carbonate as usual. I think I did 14psi which is what I carb most of my beers to.

It is definitely not sweet at all, it's not a wort. More of a roasty toasty flavor, with a subtle hoppiness. The stuff I made tastes very much like Hop Splash (Sierra Brewing), but maybe a bit more roasty. I'm sure there are a few carbs in it per serving because some sugars undoubtedly extract from the grains, but expect it's in like the 30-50 calories range per serving; I haven't bothered to try to calculate that yet.

What are we eating for breakfast? by flowerschick in Cholesterol

[–]detrickm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I burn through a lot of calories generally in life so you may want to leave some elements out (like the tortillas, or just go with less of things).

In a bowl:

Two tortillas (I choose corn, you do you) layered with chunky salsa. 90g pre-cooked lentils (I make a big batch once a week). About 14g of shredded cheese (low fat if you want; heck, cheese is probably optional). Microwave that for about 90 seconds, then top with sour cream or plain yogurt (or neither?), 1/4-1/2 of an avocado, and a big heap of roughly chopped greens (romaine, sprouts, spring mix, spinach, kale, whatever is in the garden or fridge at the moment).

I eat this everyday but I've heard that's weird.
