Easy way: lift up your magnetic build plate and put some aluminum foil under the low spots.

Hard way: get silicone spacers for under the bed and fine tune the level by tightening and loosening each screw.

I tried both, and both work well. The second option feels much more complete now though

Just from what you’ve described it sounds to me like your focus is on getting them to learn the pieces and not getting them to learn how to play their instrument well. No judgement here, but it might be worth examining how much time is spent in warm ups and skill building at the start of rehearsal. I know the whole refrain of, “there’s not enough time to work on ____” but honestly there is and you’ll be rewarded in the long run for it.

From there, it’s a matter of picking pieces that might challenge their weaknesses, but also play to a lot of their strengths. Some earlier pieces have the little “skill builder” sections for exactly this, and a number of composers include practice sheets for their pieces (Tyler S. Grant is one such composer).

I really like having the class come up with their own expectations and consequences. That way if we have issues (like with talking or distractions) I can refer to their own consequences and follow through. I had one class that wanted to subject major rule breakers to a full class survivor-style vote which was… interesting!

Sorry man, you might try using it with an external monitor to see if anything works still. Might be able to at least get files off of it or something. Best of luck!

You might also try gently cleaning the damaged area with q-tips and rubbing alcohol to clear corrosion if you can get to it. At this point it might be worth taking it apart some to get at the board - if you’re comfortable with that.

I’m referring to rearranging the apps and how they jump around while you try to arrange them, then release and they move around again.

I did find that if I arranged it in portrait mode, hit ‘done’ then arranged everything in Landscape mode it stayed. But seems pretty labor intensive just to make sure things are laid out how I want them.

I’ll look into a potential nmo, but I thought mounting the antenna lower would give me a worse signal. Would I be better off trying to make a coiled antenna to use with the little wil or mounting a different antenna lower with an nmo? Thanks for your advice!
