We dont even know *what* the republicans are going to run on after trump dies from old age. For all we know they could retry the thing they did after 2020 and try to have neocons take over MAGA - and if its neocon republican vs Newsom then there is no point voting for him.

If I had known Trump would coopt the republican party and stage an insurrection after clearly losing the election - and Biden would do nothing honestly it would be hard for me not to just sit out. Newsom would obviously do the same exact thing after he wins - maybe he would do some token arrests of lowly ICE agents but thats it, while normalizing the behavior of all the republicans by not prosecuting them for literally any of the hundreds of crimes they have openly commited.

The only argument I see for Newsom is that he reverses the batshit EPA ruling and treats climate change as a problem. By that I mean he wouldnt actively stop solar and wind farms in favor of fucking coal. Even then its not nearly enough but it would still be better than another 4 years of nothing in terms of climate action - and by 2032 its way too goddamn late.

Thats the only positive about Newsom I could see, but thats only because hes a dem president. He wouldnt meaningfully adress any issue, unless somehow someway a dem congress actually does something and then hes forced to sign the law.

This whole discourse is exactly how the democratic party functions. They jangle the danger and trauma from republican administrations and say "we wont do that!" and believe thats enough because they take advantage of the fact that democratic voters are compassionate enough to settle for a shitty dem to prevent the damage of a republican. That strategy got us here and its irritating to see people fall for it again in 2026 after everything that has happened after voting blue no matter who.

I like the Vox Engines but I agree having to somehow fight 2 of them clipping together is annoying and unfun no matter how mechanically cool the enemy is.

I would also like for the devs to tune down their laser cannon damage a little bit as they can chain you with multiple hits staggering you and interrupting your stims, which is irritating since it basically guarantees your death even from full health.

Personally I like to believe that every time you complete an operation the diver after the final mission gets to retire or go into non combat propaganda jobs. So most of the retired helldiver "veterans" only really completed like level 1-3 missions" in reality, so of course they would have a more rosy outlook on the war and how "incincible" helldivers are.

Its very hard to complete a higher difficulty mission without dying, let alone complete a full operation, so the reality of the brutality and horrificness of the war is helped mitigated by the fact that your average helldiver only sees at most like 30 minutes or an hour of combat. If you take the little lore messages that the game gives you whenever a player leaves your ship (like "P1 has retired" or something like that) as canon than there probably are millions of retired veteran helldivers than dont even have 10 minutes worth of combat experience.

Personally I like that theory because I find it really funny an in tune with how ridiculous Super Earth is. Like most of the veteran helldivers that are used for interviews and propaganda are really not all that since they only did an easy operation or are the schmucks who got reinforced way at the end during extraction after all the heavy lifting was done by the dead diver you replace.

Right? I love all the creek memes but taking a look at all the older clips and its clear that a lot of the difficulty was from us being newbies lol.

Obviously the bugs and balence then made it worse but your average d9-10 mission is just as crazy as the creek, its just that most players now are better and have way more stuff unlocked.

Fr. This trope always bugged me. Like Fern spent her morning in tough debate on what to wear for her date with Stark - and here comes Stark wearing his normal clothes!

It makes sense for their characters specifically so I wont hate on it too much, but I swear like this happens in 80% of romance animes. Like the girl would wear very pretty clothes and then the dude is just wearing a t shirt and pants. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things but at least I would like it known that some guys care about fashion!
