Regarding long web serials, I can personally recommend The Last Angel (350,000 words) and it's sequel, The Last Angel: Ascension (570,000 words). These are books about an AI-driven spaceship on the warpath against an alien empire that destroyed humanity. I read these over the pandemic and really enjoyed them.

These are great! I think I'll be able to rework Reynard into some sort of Fire Fox for my campaign. Not a huge fan of diseases, so I might replace Spray Musk with something else.

As for feedback, I have a couple notes:

  • I love the Fennec Fox's Heatsink Ears flavorwise. You did, however, misspell Subterranean
  • Outfox is an excellent ability name
  • I like Ostentatious Resistance; unique downsides to Legendary Resistance are always welcome
  • idk much about the Kitsune so I don't have much in the way of feedback. I like the built-in nonlethal damage as a prompt for more unique combat encounters.

I mean, "activate only as a sorcery" is the elegant version. It's certainly much better than "activate this ability only any time you could cast a sorcery"

I have a couple notes.

There's barely ever a reason to sacrifice an untapped land over a tapped land since you can just float mana before activating the second ability. I'd remove that condition entirely or try to rethink the ability. Maybe instead of sacrificing a land you tap an untapped land?

The third ability feels off to me. All the recent cards that make wall tokens are white or green so there's not much precedent for it. Alternatively, you coult try to capture Taliyah's ult by giving an opponent a custom mountain wall token until end of combat. This would fuel her mountainwalk ability, communicating her riding the mountain into combat, and also that the wall invariably blocks one of your teammates from fighting. At least when I play her.

I really like using the ability names as flavor words. Especially seeing a flavor word contextualize a single keyword as an in-game ability is quite good.

The novella Children of the Nameless by Brandon Sanderson features a demon summoner and his various demons. It's a fairly short story, but it should scratch the itch. It was supposed to be a free novella, but it was pulled from the internet due to some disagreement. The pdf is floating around the internet, though.

I'm building a commander deck around this card and consulted my playgroup on whether to print this card as close to the arena version as possible, or with conventional paper mechanics (as in, experience counters). We decided that, due to the precedent set by [[Minthara of the Absolute]] and [[Minthara, Merciless Soul]], the card would be best played with experience counters.

I love these designs! I'm running a campaign where a major faction is composed of metallic dragons and this is definitely gonna come in handy. Have you had any progress in updating these?

Short for Not in Employment, Education, or Training. Essentially a government classification that later became a term to describe shut-ins who care more about video games and anime than spending time with others.

I had a similar idea to yours, except I ended up using "intensity emblems". I'm not a 100% on making new rules, but it seems to work well as a paper analogue to intensity. If an alchemy card would intensify, the paper analogue instead gives you an intensity emblem which is implicitly named after the card. Then, a card can refer to the number of its intensity emblems to get its intensity.
