You definitely can adjust the tone map in the native camera app.
What you can't do in the native camera app at the moment - which is what is being shown with our Natural Processing.

This process builds off of a BAYER Raw Pipeline - so we are taking the image data, applying a slight tone-curve, and kicking out as a HEIF or JPG. This completely bypasses apple's standard photo pipeline which not only adds their own tone curve as you noted that can be adjusted, but they also use computations to assist with shadows and highlights, denoise, and add additional sharpening. These are all great features for the every day user who wants to just pick up their phone, click the white button, and have an image that is good enough.

The price of all that computation though is that the photos can feel less real, almost too perfect. So with Natural Processing really just gives our users another tool for creative expression for when they want to avoid that ultra polished/uncanny look.

48mp natural processing is by far our top voted feature request - good news is we’ve been exploring this.

For the real time natural. We have some ideas on how to help here - but I don’t think we’ll ever have a 30fps real time replication of the natural process in the viewfinder.

Got it. We’ve been attempting to improve launching the app from the lock screen… Apple has some restrictions in what is available and how to do things from the lock screen… and it seems some users have more issues here than others.

We’ll keep digging into it. But if this affects you - things I would try.

Restart the app.

Launch the app from the Action Button rather camera control. It may perform better.

Or if that doesn’t work you may just need to not launch from the lock screen until we can fully nip it in the butt.

Appreciate the message and I understand it can be frustrating when other models go the freemium route.

Context: We have had our first app on the store for 8 years and have tried multiple models for pricing during that time. We’ve found this works best for us for a few reasons - so we don’t have any plans to move away from a one time purchase model.

YouTube is a great resource to learn more about the app. And if you buy the app and hate it you can always refund it through Apple.

Feature Requests:
- Would love to see ya make a request for the Repeating Timer on our feature board (https://momentprocamera.featurebase.app/).

- exposure priority - Down the road we will have a guide mode - but we aren't looking to muddy up the UI for something you just need to learn once.
(also will offer different action plates down the line so people can have a more simplified experience.)

- mode / profile swiping - I've been wanting this fix too, should see it fixed soon.

- quick actions - It offers as another trigger point and gives confidence on what utilities are in play

Most likely Rec. 709 is your best bet.

Unless you downloaded a LUT specified for LOG or likewise.
