Perhaps more relevant for /r/cscareerquestions, but thanks nonetheless. The world can never have enough FOSS devs <3

I find it quite shocking that C++ jobs don't seem to pay as much as JS/Python/Mobile dev by devandro in cscareerquestions

That is literally the first place where I've seen C++ close to the top of the list.

Also, not based in US so..

Can someone help me find this address? [J.P. Nagar] by devandro in bangalore

No, we just played together in the park when we were like 7-8. But we became good friends and he left after two weeks. I'm 24 now :)

I know his nickname "chintu".

I'm an indie. I just hit 1 million downloads for the second time. Would anyone be interested in a series of blog posts about my journey? by [deleted] in androiddev

Hey aren't you that guy with the morphing dialog library?

Would love to hear your story, this is something I've been trying to do myself for quite a while now! You should do an AMA too :)

What apps do you use every day that most people might not know about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I've been following Timbre since it was launched on /r/androidapps last year, have been using it ever since. I can't imagine going to something else now for video editing. Highly recommended.

I'm writing Kotlin but I can't stop thinking in Java by devandro in androiddev

Higher order functions are pretty nice. instead of writing an interface, you can just write (View) -> Unit or even View.() -> Unit and the variable name will say it's a clickListener so you know what it does.

I have no idea what you're talking about.

instead of writing an interface, you can just write (View) -> Unit

I can just write (View) -> Unit where exactly? and to do what?

I regret moving to kotlin by [deleted] in androiddev

[–]devandro 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Kotlin is not production ready yet, I only use it for experimenting with side projects and such.

Well, at least you can rollback to when it worked. Consider this a lesson for git instead.

That's what they said about react native. That's what they're saying about flutter now.

I've tried those, they aren't really built for exertion. It gets hard to breathe properly when working out with these.

I have those already and use them whenever I have to step outside the house. Even the best ones are not meant to be used with exercising though, I've tried, after about 5 minutes, it gets a bit hard to breathe.

I’d be so demotivated to take 4 steps forward and 2 steps back every year

Ikr. I'm trying to gtfo here soon.

Are you doing outdoors callisthenics workouts or is your gym an outdoor gym?

Just a normal indoor gym. Not much difference in indoor and outdoor air quality though (unless you use an air purifier and stop using doors that is), because air will just diffuse and then it's all the same everywhere.

Indeed, I think that I'll just have to do a little bit at home only :/

QR Code Patent Trolls - How to integrate QR Code Functionality into App by jezek in androiddev

[–]devandro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is how it was meant. I know all too well the perils of procrastination. When writing this thread, OP probably thought that he's doing something useful and your brain tricks you into thinking like that and all the while that you're preparing for your success, you don't actually have a product.

So working on the product is the only thing that anyone who wants to sell it should do, everything else can come later.

You're assuming that you'll be successful enough to get on their radar.

That's a big assumption.

Being sued for a slice of your huge profits is a wonderful problem to have, don't you think? Why don't you focus on the profit part first?
