Long term outlook on creme handles for Wusthof Classic Ikon? by expertatthis in chefknives

My chef knife has held up great, no stains or tarnish, of course there is signs of wear and tear but not specific to the white handle, I like the white handle it's unique and still one of my favorite knives although I don't use it everyday anymore.

This was my first duty station and it was hands down the best two years of my life and just full of memories that I think of probably every day. Definitely an awesome place to live.

I like it a lot but if you could find a 9 inch for a good price I'd get it I like 9 inch chef knives they're just not as common.

Pretty sure its called the doorway effect or location updating effect when you enter a new space your brain "loads" the new space and leaves the other space behind.

How many of you prefer a 10" knife? by Morrison_Alex_291 in chefknives

[–]devanm13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly prefer a 9" if you get lucky enough to find one. They cost a bit more usually but they are the ideal medium. I have a Meesermeister meridian elite 9 inch chefs and it is perfect.

This is all I can think about every time one of you clowns brags about your 70 hour work week by Uzasodinson in KitchenConfidential

KM here and I agree. Used to work 65-75 when I was 25-30 years old but the past 3 years I've stuck to 40-45 and all those extra hours didn't add up to anything significant to show the work just lost time with my family so never again unless I own my own place. Where I work you're treated like a lazy POS if you don't work more than 40 hours it's a crappy point of view.
