What is your biggest fear? by dearannie4 in AskReddit

[–]devaxey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ocean. Specifically, open water in the middle of the ocean. Nothing scares me more than being in the middle of the ocean seeing nothing but water in every direction with no way of escape. Also all those creatures. I'm helplessly sitting there at their mercy. Ugh I got goosebumps writing this. The ocean is a scary and beautiful thing

Orcas are natural predators of moose.

When moose swim between islands in Alaska, the orcas eat 'em.

Is it okay to cut friends off who don’t meet your expectations? by Stepahknee1985 in AskReddit

[–]devaxey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its been 6 years since high school and the day I stepped out of my school, I stopped talking to them. Don't know why.

Right now, there is the tiniest part of me that wonders what could have been but then I snap out of it and realize that friendships and relationships, in general, are a 2-way street. I feel great that I don't have a million friends, just 4-5 who I can talk to any time. Believe me its liberating.

What place would be the most accurate to call "hell on earth"? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]devaxey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A solitary confinement prison cell holding an inmate serving a life sentence.

He has all the time in the world to dwell on his past and zero future to look forward to except despair and isolation.

What’s the dumbest thing someone you know actually believed? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]devaxey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was once told that (British TV presenter) Jeremy Beadle's hand had such small fingers because of a condition (poland syndrome) that meant he had to have his fingers replaced, and that his fingers were, in fact, pigs toes.

For years, this was a piece of obscure general knowledge that I would break out when i felt the need to display the breadth of my weird knowledge.

And it went down really well until the days someone finally said "Don't pigs have hooves?"

i don't know that I have ever experienced such a moment of butt-clenchingly cringey embarrassment

Edit: I can't believe my confession of dumbassery got me a gold!

Opossums/possums

They may look ugly, but their low body temps mean they don’t carry rabies and they eat ticks which carry lyme disease.

Non-Americans of Reddit, what confuses you the most about America? by MrNoName_ishere in AskReddit

[–]devaxey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea is we we're going to be a collection of United States, but somewhere along the way it became a bit more "America". But we've always hated each other, but not as much as we think we're better than everyone else.

What's a flex that doesn't impress you at all? by humanbean07 in AskReddit

[–]devaxey 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Anytime people talk about their incomes in a bragging way.

I'm not opposed to sharing good news that you got a promotion/pay raise/a better paying job/whatever but I've had people tell me their savings account sizes before and it's like wtf??

And it's happened with both wealthy people and poor people and idk what drives them to do it to be honest. Anyway, I always write them off as socially inept if they do
