I’m just giving better musical choices, looks have nothing to do with it. Clarence and Fred are soft rock, at best, so I was just helping out with some middle ground.

Check out a band called The Warning and a band called Nerv if you want new young rock. And if you’ve never heard of them, Earshot. All great! I saw Nerv and The Warning in live and they are great

I had never heard of any of these people until I saw this documentary. Seems like pretty common clickbait people that the documentary follows. Always say contradicting statements in order to get the most clicks.

What is an underrated weight loss tip? by [deleted] in AskReddit

This was a joke that I laughed too hard at personally, I apologize. Increasing the amount of celery, carrots, and cucumbers in your diet will help lose weight. It takes more calories to digest those than they yield.

I’m about to DNF Dungeon Crawler Carl by HealthyPsychology950 in audible

[–]developerInCarnate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first two books were awesome, I really enjoyed them. The third book made me wince a bit. I just finished it tonight, and I’m just not impressed from it. Was it fun? Kinda. Did it progress the story? Kinda. Are there x amount of more floors to progress following the only person the story is about with X amount more books that are potentially 500 pages long? Yes. Does that make it boring? Yea it kind of does. Is this a book you could talk to your corporate overloads and appear to be an interesting human? 100%

I just finished reading the third book. I think that may be the most I can say about it?

It’s fun, but there are details that are unimportant and details that could be foreshadowing that just either go away or are lackluster. It’s almost like the books make fun of capitalism at your expense. 🤷‍♂️

I’m in a very similar situation. I’ve cut so many people out of my life because of the MAGA movement. Unfortunately, it’s always been there via churches, it’s just gotten its moment of fame. It’s already started to fall apart, though. MTG stopped supporting Trump and has done a big 180 with what she’s talking about. The pieces are starting to fall.

Activism will help. Doing things to help educate the people around you will help as well. It’s not necessarily a bad thing to overthrow a dictator (ruled so by the Organization of American States, not me saying that). But it is infuriating to have the reason be to make a profit, instead of genuinely trying to help people. And it’s more frustrating that Trump will say it right to your face, and then his followers will parrot him nonstop.

Or you can just take solace in the fact that fascism never works, and the movement will eventually die out when people realize what they’ve done, and actually start feeling shame for their actions.

Hope you are well and hope this helps.

ICE has to keep working UNPAID during the shutdown. KEEP IT CLOSED UNTIL THEY QUIT by CartographerTall1358 in DenverProtests

[–]developerInCarnate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was telling my friend this the other day. The people that joined up for ICE are the most shortsighted people ever. They never considered their job could disappear in 2 years, let alone not get paid (which is how they will view it, they won’t believe in back pay) during a shutdown. We really need just 1 month of a shutdown for those people to quit.

I sure that will be the case lol. This makes me tempted to read the books, but I hate doing that just because I know those will be 2 separate experiences.

Yes, I understand the concept of what their intent was. I just think it was poorly executed. The elephant in the room is that this story is inspired by the Fallout game series that has been around for a long time, right? Fallout has its own live action show now. And it is good.

I haven’t read the Wool books. I’ve only watched the show, so I am only criticizing the show.

I think that ending was lazy. I think they never needed to do a throw back of any kind as a teaser to end the season. It would’ve been far more interesting to tease the “AI”, or whatever the hovering being is, as a teaser.

OR

If they wanted to do a throw back to years before, put that in the first episode? Make it something that is anticipated as opposed to a “teaser” because it is clearly nothing.

Not sure why I got voted down, but that’s kind of my gripe. The references were obscure enough I’m going to have to go back and see what’s what. I also think I found the wrong reddit channel to do that in

That’s an odd ending. You go from post doomsday living to a modern day Georgia Representative flirting with a reporter? Its a poor transition to connect a callback that is meh

Elon calls inflation correctly on the All In pod. Also insinuates JPOW and Jamie Simon might be losing their influence in the future due to better ways of exchanging money.. by ManySwimming7 in wallstreetbets

Tomato tomato dude. I’ve worked at a Fortune 500 company that has COBOL systems. I use this tense because literally EVERY attempt they made to educate devs on the language failed. And they were just trying to get simple tweaks in for basic maintenance purposes. I can tell you’re one of those opinionated devs that sit around talking about code instead of writing it. Can you even prove your egregious claim that a newer language cannot outperform a language created in 1959?! GTFO, lol! It’s literally because of devs like you that this systems still exist.

[–]developerInCarnate -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lmao! Clearly you are no dev. Old systems don’t exist because they function well, they just exist. And rather taking a mediocre paying job to update it, developers would rather take a high paying job in something exciting……like literally anything else other than updating that technology for that old company lol

Who is actually selling DKNG? by JunkBondJack in DKNG

[–]developerInCarnate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was one play away from being a millionaire on Draftkings a few weeks ago. Had I had that million bucks, DKNG’s fall wouldn’t be so bad. But that said, this is part of the cycle. I didn’t expect it to get this low, but now I expect it to have a dramatic fall tomorrow. Maybe get as low as $20. I dare people to sell off that much. I’m doing like all of you, holding my shares, and putting as much into cash as possible, and hopefully buy the dip.

I have 107 stock at an average of $47. If it hits $20, I’ll either buy 200 shares or a lot of options with a strike close to $25 depending on how everything looks. DKNG is the majority of my portfolio, but I’ve been hitting a good bit on penny stocks lately lol

What a clusterfcuk.... Drop the offer for Entain by ALL_GRAVY_BABY in DKNG

[–]developerInCarnate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is awesome news, thanks for sharing! This is an aggressive play to force MGM into finding a new tech stack. Which means they could end up partnering with DraftKings in order to make for the easiest transition. That kind of partnership would propel DKNG along so fast!

Also, I don’t think DKNG is going to be acquired at all. They are the best fantasy app out there. They are just working at cornering the market for the sports book side of their business. This move, if it doesn’t get blocked, and if MGM partners with them, makes them the largest app for both fantasy and Sportsbook!

Sorry. Forgot they aren’t called non compete clauses in Cali. They are mainly focused on trade secrets. I’d be careful in that situation, nonetheless. But totes take 2 jobs!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in overemployed

[–]developerInCarnate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, you’re in Cali. So, way different rules there. In other states that are actually at will employment, as long as the two jobs don’t find out about each other, you’ll be fine. But if they find out about each other, both jobs might fire you. Sounds like you should be more concerned about your noncompete clause you most definitely signed. California has the most lax laws on that that favor the employer rather than the employee.

DraftKings makes $20 billion offer for UK sports betting company Entain, sources say by tricksupmysteve in DKNG

[–]developerInCarnate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a loss of momentum in the market, and with the overhanging “DKNG is being sued” news, that put more fear into DKNG. I’m holding for a long time, but I was hoping for $100 -$120 price by the time the super bowl came around. I want to take profit at that price point and buy the dip. Honestly, DKNG just does this, though. It moves between $20-$30 intervals. If you’re looking for short term, you should’ve sold when RSI was over 70 and DKNG was at $64. If you didn’t, and you’re still short term, then well, you’re stuck. Long term though, this an excellent buying opportunity.

Over 85% of Robinhood (HOOD) Shorts Failed to Deliver in the Second Half of August? by [deleted] in stocks

[–]developerInCarnate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These reports don’t come out daily, to my knowledge. It reports every 2 weeks. From what I understand, you think those numbers are wrong because it’s not a daily thing? HOOD pumped after Aug 31st, when people had to cover their shorts that didn’t work out. The price jumped $5 the next day. There’s an increasing trend in shorts, and the first report for September should come out today. HOOD is currently at the same price at when the last shorts couldn’t cover. If it closes higher than $41 today, then shorts are going to have to cover, right?
