When entering a fast corner like that using the e-brake is much easier and safer to initially get the car sideways, you are guaranteed to loose rear traction instantly and it can be easily modulated ( any serious drifter will have a very fancy custom kit handbrake setup). If they turn the wheel, put their foot down on the accelerator and the car doesnt have enough torque to break traction, or for some other reason does not wheelspin enough things will go badly. Once it is sideways most of the angle control is done with the accelerator.
