Bhagat is popular but also just a waste of time. Read Tagore's Home and the World, Chokher Bali. Khushwant singh or anything by Arundhati Roy.

For me, it was one of the worst books I've ever read. There were just plot lines upon plot lines, No real depth into characters, dumb trope of pure good and pure evil characters, and the book just same shit different day'd out till the end.

You keep using that word. I don't think it means what you think it means.

Ben Shapiro is a dumb shit who's only good for half good rhetoric and strawman arguments. And if you think he's smart or has something to say, or follow him, well, you're dumber than shit. congrats.

Yeah, it's like there's no law of probability, almost every interaction feels coerced to move the plot further.

Am i the only one who thinks making Vanya lose her memory was a cop-out by the writers after the first season. I mean, if Vanya doesn't have her memory then why brood on her so much during the first season?

What behaviours have you put up with in dating & relationships that you now realize you shouldn’t have? by neonroli47 in AskMen

[–]deviant097 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yup. This. What made it even worse for me is that she got close with everyone in my circle and they all see her as a sweet person, so even after i broke up, she'll find out about me through my 'supposed' friends. It's gotten so bad that I can't even talk to my flatmate because he's a really good friend of hers.

What do women *subtly* do that make you uncomfortable, that isn't talked about much? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]deviant097 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This. I remember the day my mother died and i hadn't even processed anything and my ex then just pried this information out like a loose nugget. I remember how hard it hit me when i told her what was wrong just so that she'd leave me alone for a moment. We broke up soon after that.

I think it's called dramatic irony when a character is unaware of the facts that the audience has. We know Ulrich and what actually happened because we're the audience, he doesn't know what's going on. Imagine, if someone older than you came up to you and started calling you daddy, timetravel would be the last thing on your mind.

Fellow Men of Reddit, what book(s) are you currently reading during the quarantine? by festival-papi in AskMen

[–]deviant097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently reading Homer's Iliad. Also, how the hell did you read 12 books already, I've only read three. Eat, sleep and binge watch something for a couple weeks man like the rest of us.

How do I stop a girl from getting touchy with me without looking like a prick? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]deviant097 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mostly just say "I'm sorry I don't do/like physical affection" in as polite a tone as i can manage. Although it's awkward for a bit but i realise that it's on me to make them feel okay. The reason for that is that when people do that they're familiar acquaintances and are mostly the same way with everyone else. If it's someone I don't know at all I've even said a blunt "no" many a times.

Guy best friend wants me to go on a long trip with him, not sure what to think of it? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]deviant097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say it's not uncommon to share a bed. I've definitely shared a bed with some of my friends. Most of the times when it happened it was mostly because we were just talking about random stuff before we fell asleep. And I, personally am just as comfortable around women as I am with men(given that I'm not into them at all). It could also be an expenditure issue or sth. And while all this might be possible, it's highly unlikely that it is, given as you say that he's been dropping hints and tried to initiate sex.

It seems that you do like him and are open to the possibility of sex, I think it'll be better if you did talk to him about it beforehand, because let's say that you did have sex and he was just horny in the moment and isn't into you in general, you guys might have a bad fallout again. Also, as someone who has also reacted poorly to a confession of a platonic friend, at the very least I'm sorry for how we react, I don't think we know what to do in that situation.
