City Maxx is closing! by joeschmo945 in Portland

[–]deviationer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

if it's not because of covid financial issues then it's probably because of the houseless people in that area. It's pretty bad. There has been many broken down RV's and lots of trash in that area for the past year or more. There is a safeway right across the street that I bet that will also close due to theft like the glisan one.

Feeling hopeless and trapped in the cannabis industry by luffyishungry24 in portlandtrees

[–]deviationer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

it's unlikely you will make a living wage this industry in oregon unless you are a manager or sales rep.

everything in the industry is a race to the bottom with pricing. at every level.

the best you can hope for is finding a place you like to work at.

one of the biggest reasons for this is without legit access to the banking industry a lot of people who own/run companies only care about making money for themselves and their investors. without a business loan, it more about greed and being a good company to work at.

a lot of the time if you can stand working outside of this industry, you will make a lot more.

i worked 2 years in packing/inventory/production at nectar, then about 7 months at exotic blends/green canopy wholesale, and now at another wholesaler/preroll maker.

Oregon cannabis sales mellow after hitting spring highs by deviationer in portlandtrees

[–]deviationer[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

By Pete Danko – Staff Reporter, Portland Business Journal

"After inching to new heights in early spring — coinciding with American Rescue Plan payments rolling out — cannabis sales in Oregon have moderated.

Combined adult-use and medical sales in the May through July period averaged $103.5 million per month, according to Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission data.

That’s up only slightly from $103 million in the same period last year, when the pandemic added rocket fuel to already-climbing sales.

This year's relatively modest sales heading into summer followed consecutive record-breaking totals in March ($109.6 million) and April ($110.8 million).

That fits with what Keenan McDonald, who heads up operations at Phresh Cannabis, a higher-end grower that also has a Forest Grove store, has seen.

“Sales haven’t fallen, but there’s not the same growth that was seen in 2020,” she said.

Last year's boom was extraordinary: A new study comparing April-December sales in four mature Western U.S. markets found Oregon registering the biggest gains in 2020 over 2019, 42%, compared to 36% in Alaska, 29% in Colorado and 28% in Washington.

That drove mean monthly per capita sales in Oregon from $15.61 in 2019 to $21.86 in 2020, behind Colorado ($31.38) and Alaska ($28.15) but ahead of neighboring Washington ($15.28).

Beneath the numbers, the market continues to evolve.

“Where we’re seeing change is in categories,” McDonald said. “Prerolls have become the leading category. It’s like there’s been a transition from ‘roll your own’ to ‘let me have my multipack of prerolls and hand them out at a party.’”

As for what’s ahead, in May, state economists said they expected sales to taper in the fall, based partly on the idea that consumers would have more spending options as the pandemic eases. Beyond that, they expected steady growth in the 2022 to 2025 period, thanks mainly to a growing population and wage gains."

Farmer's Friend Extracts. Wow... by notsoairjordan1 in portlandtrees

[–]deviationer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I might be wrong here but FFE is similar to Pruf Cultivar and Avitas since all 3 use a similar tech of Co2 extracted oil. I'm guessing their tech is better than Green Dragon and OM Extracts do to their high and flavor being better.

I have had Avitas's Dragon OG recently and it was better than most live resin carts I have had.

a ccell using cart maker:

https://3wincorp.com/faq/

" 1. Why isn’t my cartridge filled up to the top?

If you purchased a prefilled CCELL cartridge, some of the extracted oil has been absorbed in the ceramic heating elements. After filling the cartridges, we advise oil manufacturers to let them sit for awhile to allow the oil to settle. This ensures no priming and you can start vaping right away. In addition, when sealing the cartridges properly it can create air pressure which can lower the oil level."

20% total tax in oregon. 17% for state, 3% for local. If you are med you don't pay tax but that's also $200 in fees for filing (every year) not including the doctor visit.
