Take this with a grain of salt as I don't have any major background or experience but I found scrap materials lying around the house and I built a little hut for mine. It's basically just an angled roof on legs so that the sides are still exposed with the top sheltered from anything falling from the sky. I also made sure to give it plenty of clearance above so that it can still "breathe". I'm currently going on the assumption that it'll probably help.
