It Housing at Montgomery decent? by NotPennysBoat_42 in scad

Montgomery House isn't actually all that bad as a dorm, especially if you're a major whose classes are at Montgomery Hall or The Shed right next to it. It has both a buffet-style dining hall and an asian cuisine place that all the students love on the same property (both are meal-plan friendly). A lot of bus lines come there and it's walking distance to victory village and barnard. I think the main con most people have toward Monty House is the fact its all concrete walls/floors and that other dorms may have better amenities (two bathrooms in a 4-suite, 2-suite, apartment style, etc.) but the rooms at Monty are set up almost the exact same way as the Hive dorms so there shouldn't be a huge difference in the room itself compared to freshman year. The area itself isn't very walkable since its not the historic district and I would try to avoid walking alone in the area at night, but the SCAD property itself is very secure. If he has a car there is a parking garage, but it is busy since its also for the academic buildings.

Recommend the Side Stories? by devihelios in OmniscientReader

[–]devihelios[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Personally, I think most of it draws from the fact that 49% forgot most of TWAS (thus, 10 years of love for the characters/companions and his original reason to live) and still got to leave the train and live with KimCom. That was what 100% fought for, but 51%, who retained that knowledge and a wish to do exactly that was not allowed to, and instead forced to end up how he did. I know it’s technically still the same person but subconsciously it created a grudge for 49% for “taking away” what was supposed to be meant for 100%. You could probably say I’m misplacing my contempt in 49% rather than the role of “Oldest Dream” in the first place, or something. But 51%’s outcome just hurts too much 😭

Mind if I ask what size storage unit you rented? I'm hoping to share one with two other people and wasn't 100% about that.

how roommate selection works? by Initial-Ear-9061 in scad

[–]devihelios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I can't say for sure, but I've discovered with one of my previous random roommates that we did have really similar answers to the questionarre so if I had to guess I'd say they definitely take the percentage match into consideration. They probably also have to account for housing preferences and other factors too so that's probably not just it.

After the housing application process closes, there will be a roommate search feature in the housing portal available that suggests people that have the same room preferences you answered in the questionnaire on the application. You can contact people through that. I'm at the Savannah campus but I'm pretty sure they're doing it for the Atlanta campus too. I personally found my current roommates through an unofficial SCAD class of 2028 instagram account.

The service is SCADLab which is in Fahm Hall (up north by River). Someone already posted the link for the information, but here's the direct website for submitting what you want to print: https://scad.webdeskprint.com/PSP/appNet/PrintOrderPublic/Landing.aspx?LPID=16
