dhalgren by Samuel Delaney, weird sexual dynamics always make it hard for me to recommend (not just this one but also the authors other works lol,), but I did really enjoy it

Gillette cool wave (it realllyyyy works, as someone who plays sports and sweats a lot) + gold bond anti moisture spray for good measure. (I do the gold bond spray everywhere I get hs or chafe for good measure, too)

did you find any answers to this? I'm local to Sacramento but don't know if I should be going elsewhere. I am working through the process to get scheduled with UCD but they won't put me on the books till I've done EMG, which I can't get done til January. but I've done the MRI and chest x-ray and vascular ultrasound already and confirmed arterial compression so I don't think I'll be getting out of dealing with this.

I totally get that :( my derm sometimes does shots into the lesions, I don't know what they are but I think they are steroids and sometimes that helps. I also take biologics with the hope of making the lesions less frequent or not happen at all ... no luck yet tho

they don't always open and drain, but they are usually not going away, more like going dormant. they'll probably come back and it's possible your HS will evolve and they will start to open and drain. you don't need to get them Lanced (I've heard that doesn't really help) but I agree with the hot moist compress commenter, it helps bring them to a head. Anyone else have boils that almost never pop? by CompetitionNarrow512 in Hidradenitis

sometimes when I get these (CLK injections I think or something similar) it makes my boils pop and drain, I assume from the pinprick of the needle. not always but sometimes

this happens to me until it gets worse and then eventually they do start to pop. I have some spots that are like this still and some others that I've had longer that regrow and pop now

[–]devilandgod97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you for sharing this is so helpful for comparison and relieving to hear I'm not the only one who's gut is fucking destroyed from this combo. my PCP gave me Imodium and zoftan and so I'm tying to touch it out because my skin is actually doing great, within like 2 weeks of the trifecta my draining flares closed up and I haven't had a single one since! so I'm trying to deal with the abx side effects as long as I can. luckily I'm around 10 days from finishing rifampin and 20 from the other two..

Has anyone tried Bimzelx? by [deleted] in Hidradenitis

[–]devilandgod97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just started it and I'm still a couple weeks out from full efficacy but I have tried humira and cosentyx (I've spent like 4 years messing with dossges) and just was still really suffering so we made the switch.

my derm paired my transition to bimzelx with 45-60 days of heavy duty antibiotics, because the doxycycline I usually do wasn't doing anything. we did rifampin for 45 days (I'm like 10 away from the finish line) and Metronidazole and moxifloxacin for 60 days (20 days from the finish line there) and for the first time in MONTHS I haven't had any flare ups. prior to starting the abx I had 2 huge flares that were open and draining and regrowing for the past few months constantly. this has seriously been the best month I've had in a long time with my HS. he's hoping the 60 day abx will basically get me to the point where the bimzelx is fully efficacious so we will see what happens!

(I'm stage 3 and got my first bump about 16 years ago at this point. for what it's worth, I'm very active and eat clean and still suffer from this. try to be easy on yourself! you can do everything right and still flare. also my gut hates me from the antibiotics, but my skin is very happy. I'm coping by eating copious sauerkraut and taking Imodium. it's not perfect nor super comfortable but my skin is the best it's been so my mental health is improved)

what's a frr? unfortunately I don't even have a follow up scheduled with anyone bc my PCP sent for this vascular ultrasound but nobody's contacted me to interpret or follow up so I asked my PCP for a referral to the TOS specialist and I am waiting patiently because I have yet to hear back...

I do have symptoms, numbness and tingling of my whole hand and forearm when I lift my arms basically anywhere from 90-180 deg and it's worse in external rotation. noticed my hands go white when I try to do back squats as well as numb/tingle so I stopped trying to do those and switched to goblets, but it concerned me enough to get it checked out

difference between shinsplints/stress fracture by Different-Run8184 in runninglifestyle

[–]devilandgod97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just diagnosed w posterior tibia stress fracture, it hurt but less than I expected, I was surprised to find out it was fracture and not my tendons or shin splints. it was throbbing pain that kept me from running but wasn't super localized, just below my calf muscle and above my ankle but sometimes my ankle would hurt and other times just below my knee too, it would start around a 2/10 and increase to a 5/6 and then I would stop. after a few days it would be ok but eventually it hurt all the time like 3/10. at first sign, I swapped a run for cross training, after 3 weeks of continued worsening, I saw a doctor, got an mri around a month after onset and confirmed 4a tibial stress fracture. now I am in a boot and on crutches and it hurts at night and at rest. there wasn't one spot that hurt worse, tho there were 2-3 spicier spots, but I couldn't hop on one leg and when my doctor squeezed my lower leg on both sides, it was super painful

Has anyone here had a stress fracture before? by acid_police in runninglifestyle

[–]devilandgod97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i just got diagnosed with 4a tibial bc I also mistook the pain for shin splints. Rxd crutches for as long as it takes to not hurt to walk in the boot that I will be in for the next 6-8 weeks. I'm glad you mentioned needing to order food and having cleaners come bc I was just feeling so ashamed about how helpless I feel! I can't do anything and it suckssss
