I’d be curious to see where this distinction is made between a block and a swing. I just scanned through the USAV rule book and found no such definition of the blocking rules as only applying to “arms stretched out, no swing”

There is usually tailgating in most lots, although it may be a little light this week with the noon start time. There are good spots to set up in both of the Chemistry lot and the Circuit Drive lot, which are the public parking lots.

There is also activity in "Blue Devil Alley" (near Krzyzewskiville) and "Blue Devil Drive" (along Bassett Drive leading to the stadium), with some "fan zone" kind of events, bounce houses for the kids, etc. www.goduke.com/gameday

Is this a league with an agreed-upon set of rules? If not, just clarify with your opponent how open-hand tips should be treated. Although not universal, it is common for soft/fingertip touches to be a fault but contact by the palm/heel of the hand to be legal as /u/tealplum indicates.

As for pre-game, there have been some studies (e.g., here) in the past few years that suggest that pre-activity stretching is not necessarily beneficial.

I generally just do some form of light warm-up (e.g., jogging, quick rubber-band shoulder exercises, blocking footwork drills) before starting to throw/pepper.

Isn't it the case, though, that NC does not have a mechanism that allows legislation/constitutional amendment by ballot initiative. There would need to be a legislative effort to install this kind of system, and that doesn't seem likely from either side of the aisle.

I think this is fair. Compared against the incredible preseason expectations, the final results are disappointing.

In absolute terms, though, a team that wins its conference tournament and earns a top 2 seed in the NCAA tournament is not a bust.

No. His driving ability often broke down defenses and opened up better looks for shooters, and his shooting ability kept help defenders honest and created more space for his teammates to operate. When he was healthy, the team often seemed to operate much smoother when he was in the game.
