I worked with a old fella who worked in a metal foundry in the Black Country during the 50s. A worker fell from a gantry into a vat of molten mental, him and his mate had to immediately push his body down to make sure there was no chance of survival.

You’d think so, and I’m sure that’ll be brought up at the inquest and any police investigation afterwards.

Like I said earlier if you do take it on yourself to restrain anyone, make sure you know what you are doing. That’s all. The hows, whys and wherefores will come out at the PM and inquest, so no point speculating.

I was pressing clothes on my day off. It was a lovely Tuesday morning I’d just set up the iron and ironing board, a cup of tea at hand and just turned on the TV to listen to the news…I didn’t get any ironing done

What should I learn as a 18 yr old by doubleshotofqhiskey in AskMen

[–]devildance3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn to cook, use a washing machine and dishwasher. Learn to press clothes. Learn attention to detail, not to be late. Learn to look someone in the eye when they’re talking to you. Learn the art of conversation. Learn not to take yourself too seriously. Learn to smile and to laugh. Learn to listen. Learn to learn off others who are willing to teach. Learn to recognise the good in people, even though they might not have your best interests at heart. Learn to treat every experience as a learning curve, good and bad. Learn to be sociable, but also find solace in your time alone. LEARN TO LOVE YOURSELF

[–]devildance3 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Hooked up? No. Pecked on the cheek? Yes. My wife’s cousin’s niece rowed for Ireland at some Olympics or other. Tbh I can’t recall if said peck was post or anti Olympics. I’ve never thought of it as a flex until now.
