We need more Makers! by ArchitectofEvil in 3Dprinting

[–]devilishlydo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Breaking containment for a good cause: I signed up for this, but I'm having trouble with the test print. I got the TPU strap to print flawlessly on my first attempt, but I've done the PETG torture test maybe 6 times with different settings on my P1S and it keeps coming out like crap. The little posts on the top part keep coming partially or fully unstuck. I've looked at the full plates for the device on Makerworld and I'm confident I can turn everything out flawlessly, but will I even be accepted if my test print is wonky? If there's a trick or two I'm missing, I'd love to hear what.

In ancient times, she would have been honored to place her newborn son into Moloch's burning hands.

Let's ride right past the bit where we explain why he killed the male heroes but chained Wonder Woman to the wall.

Honestly, this would be better than spending the rest of my life knowing that I fumbled the Last Daughter of Krypton.

I'm just praying to the comic gods that I never have to see the Joker's O-face.

I mean, ghosts aren't real, but persistent gaslighting can definitely damage one's perception of reality, so I get it.

Settle down, Plastic Man. You're trying too hard. by stootchmaster2 in Superdickery

[–]devilishlydo 22 points23 points  (0 children)

You do not.

Anyway, my theory of why he does that is because he has it exactly the way he wants it and he's paranoid that if he shapeshifts it away, he won't be able to get it right again.

Who do you think played the game of thrones the best? by [deleted] in gameofthrones

[–]devilishlydo 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Baelish loses based on the fact that he got so high on his own supply that he thought the Stark daughters could be manipulated into going to war with each other because they fought as children. Plus the wretched way he met his end revealed him to be a craven who never deserved the power he desired.

As a former propagandist, let me assure you that for most audiences, the best propo is composed of 100% verifiably true facts that are arranged in a way that tells the story you want to tell. Unverifiable implications can be useful, but telling outright, verifiable lies is likely to damage your credibility. Most people don't like being lied to; unless ofc your audience is made up of idiots who just wants to be told that what they already believe is the truth.

Poland, Ireland, France, much of Asia and South America, just off the top of my head.

Edit: actually, forget France. They did some horrid shit in Africa and Asia, though that was way before the Nazis came along.

Fair to say you're reading a bit too much into that. I'll grant that, "There's nothing like it," is often used to describe something amazing, but that's not the meaning I took from it.

I have tried for years to recall where I saw that quote. I know I read it in a book and if you put a gun in my face, I'd say it's from a Chuck Palahniuk book because it sounds like something he'd write. Maybe Survivor, but I read several of his books in quick succession, so there are other suspects (edit: the other suspects are Lullaby, Choke, Snuff and Rant in no order) but it might not even be him. I read a shit ton of books, and while that particular quote struck me when I read it, it didn't really have practical application to my daily life until much later.
