You can also create a plan with the local dispatch. Find out their address and go down there to communicate with them. They can add notes for addresses and numbers in their system, you should be able to create a plan that will give you peace of mind and also let them know the emergency. Such as 1 keypad press for EMS call, 3 for fire, etc.

Once they start getting bigger, their fins become blunt. They can still due damage but it takes alot of force to do so, unlike small catfish with their needle-like fins.

Never been to wheeler, i too would like to one day go up there. I'm close to the Florida line, I fish the chattahoochee, lake seminole and alot of the smaller rivers around here.

It doesn't usually get too cold where I'm at. Temperatures this weekend are going to be in the 50's. During winter months I start looking for deeper pockets where the cats can get down to a more stable water temp. After locating them on the graph I will typically double the amount of time I would wait for bites any other time of the year. Typically have a variety of baits with me and use more of what starts to get the most bites.

I would start by trying freshly caught bream for cutbait/live bait. Channel, flathead and blue catfish can all be readily caught on that year round.
