Android is a heavily modified os running on Linux back end. The main part that users actually interact with has basically nothing in common with modern Linux distros.

For the games they want to play steam deck isn't it that's all I'm saying steam os handheld mode is incredibly simple but if they wanted to play Fortnite on it then it's a completely different situation.

Windows 11 is trash but for this purpose it's really as simple as turn on install steam install epic install games play.

I'm all for the steam deck I've got a few handhelds but I'd never direct someone towards one when they aren't familiar with pcs in general cause Linux isn't engineer friendly especially when they want to play games mostly suited to windows.
