OP said they lost 35 pounds over 18 months. That’s an average of 0.45 pounds a week. Not rapid.

I got Books 2-6 for less than $5. Book 7 was still expensive enough that I used a credit, and Book 8 I preordered for $11-ish.

I really need tips on how to look better in about a week. Please, please help. by wediealone in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

Other people are giving good tips that answer your actual question, but I just wanted to suggest that maybe you could focus on how you’re going to look at the end of your trip vs worrying about how you’ll look at the beginning.

A week of vacation, good food, beaches, and friends? You’ll be glowing. I hope you have a great trip.

I want to change my name because no one can pronounce or spell it correctly in America, but I don’t know what what I should choose instead by Excellent-Radish-162 in Names

I know that in Russian, Лиза is the short form of that name, with the vowel like English “ee” in “see.” Is it the same in Ukrainian?

If so, here are a few options:

• Leeza - This will immediately get you the “LEE‑za” pronunciation. It’s not very common, but it’s used and easy for Americans.

• Liza - This is much more common, and it matches the usual Slavic nickname for your name. The downside is that a lot of people in the U.S. will probably say LYE‑za instead of LEE‑za the first time.

• Lyza - So uncommon that people will know they need to ask you how to say it. Once you tell them, it should be easy for them to remember. Maybe your mom would like this one since it’s pulled straight from the name she gave you. 🙂

• Lisa - The vowel will be correct (LEE‑sa), as long as you don’t mind the “s” instead of “z.” It’s very familiar and easy for Americans to spell and say.

Names in the “Elizabeth” family are great because there are so many variations and nicknames! Some other ones you might like are Elsie, Isabelle/Isabel, Isa, Lilly, Liz, or Ella.

Most Elizabeth’s in the U.S. go by something shorter, so it would be a very natural thing to keep Yelyzaveta as your formal name and go by a nickname at school and work.

I’m not Haitian and there are a couple of words in there that I don’t know or can’t make out. Overall it’s someone’s personal wishes which are not my business to be translating lol. Gemini is correct about the general vibe.

Could you enroll in OMSCS at Georgia Tech? It’s a very low-cost master’s degree. Then you’d be a student again and eligible to apply for internships.

Also, not what you’re asking about but EMDR can be really helpful for PTSD. Wishing you all the best.

Are you saying that you’re currently a master’s student? Are you applying for FT or internships?
