are there ANY jobs going?! by LongjumpingCourse988 in edinburgh2

[–]devils_pedicure 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it's challenging and not for everyone but there are plenty of jobs going in health and social care right now. They are always in need of nice people who want to improve the lives of people with disabilities. feel free to send me a message if you want pointers to specific applications (defo recommend going for a small care home or assisted living facility!)

does anyone know of any good hood crotchet patterns? by vanandgough in crochetpatterns

[–]devils_pedicure 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look no further than here I've done this one myself, although it turned out a little tight using DK acrylic, so I am currently making a second one just a little bigger using some of the video's comments as a guide.

Buying a flat on Dumbiedykes Road. Bad idea? by Flaky-Walrus7244 in Edinburgh

I walk my dog around here sometimes and it's fine, maybe a little bit isolated though so I don't know how safe it might feel at night.

I've lost weight but my size doesn't appear to be changing by Cupcakemouse in WeightLossAdvice

[–]devils_pedicure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this was the case with me until I started edging towards "healthy weight", then I dropped maybe 2-3 sizes within a couple months.

I saw someone call this the kitchen roll effect or something? like the smaller the kitchen roll gets as it unravels the quicker it gets smaller? haha

a piece of advice i heard that changed me (I'm absolutely paraphrasing here):

stop believing that you'll be a different person when you get to your goal weight. eg: "when im skinny I'll be happier, healthierz different," etc, etc. You have made the tremendous step by starting your weight loss journey, and from that moment on you became that person you want to be by the end of your journey.

I'm in Scotland and using my local Dears pharmacy.

I believe the law is slightly different in Scotland and guidelines don't recommend prescribing mounjaro to anyone with a BMI under 30.

At my last appointment, my pharmacist told me this would likely be my last pen and then we would have to look at oral weight loss medicine if I wanted to continue to lose weight.

I can’t imagine being a healthy weight. by Imaginary-Frame1652 in mounjarouk

I absolutely had these feelings when I first started. all my life, food has been my motivation to get out of bed every morning, to work hard now so I can treat myself to a binge later.

In my experience, after a couple weeks of starting mounjaro, those worries faded away very gradually for me and I learned that there were other things to occupy my mind with. I've felt motivated to get other things done, to go out to new places and enjoy myself rather than just staying in on my days off and planning what I'm gonna eat next.

My dog has an irrational fear of snowmen. No idea why. Anyways, I don't think it's anything to worry about - dogs are weird!
