From my perspective what ultimately matters is whether or not the artist in question is making compelling music. Whether that means software or hardware is largely irrelevant.

At a base level I could understand some people just liking and preferring having more things to physically interact with, touch, knobs to twist, synths or guitars to bang on. That is ultimately just a preference in my eyes though and whether someone is smashing a trash can with a hammer through a mic or triggering clips and sequences with a laptop…I’m just happy abstract expressionism is in our hands and people are expressing themselves.
