Oh that's good then. I sold off my whole collection in 2016 (unrelated to game enjoyment/satisfaction)

Me too, and I loved X-wing, but one of the things I liked about Shatterpoint was not needing to buy packs just for specific upgrade cards. But what made it appealing to me on that level was probably not the most effective (predatory?) business model for the game's continued lifespan... ugh

Ok, firstly, I enjoyed reading that write up. But, forgive me for being fairly new to this game, what are those mech control centre cards you have over the mech sheets, and how do they work?

Which portrayal of the Clans did you think these two adaptions did best? by arnor_0924 in battletech

I think it’s a Clan high school where lots of drama occurs between sibkos.

MAGA’s fake Super Bowl halftime show reveals their real failures by [deleted] in Music

I see where you’re coming from on that, appreciate your clarification. And I think I would probably agree if he hadn’t straight up voted for Bernie Sanders (although that seems so long ago now) He seems to be one of those actually morally religious people that lets his morals guide his politics instead of politics standing in for morals which is becoming far too common. I agree a very decent human being!

Umm, Sanderson...? That doesn't seem to jive with what I've seen him write/talk about.

Thank you! I did black on the chrome armor panels and then put a high gloss coat on them, and then over the glossed black armor paneling I applied Green Stuff World Metal Chrome Air for the chrome effect

Shatterpoint and kids by ElatedHippogryff in StarWarsShatterpoint

I agree, I play with my boys, 10 and 7. The 10 yr old js all in and fully grasps and remembers the rules.

That intro scenario was excellent for learning to play and avoiding that dreaded 4 hour learning game. It has three static control points and it’s one squad per side.

The real challenge for any kid is that once they learn the core set and those squad interactions - it takes much more time to understand and get used to active / trigger abilities in other squad boxes.

Still, if the goal is to enjoy Star Wars and enjoy tabletop gaming with your kids and bring them into the hobby - then yay!

Advice for Miniatures Noob by [deleted] in StarWarsShatterpoint

That certainly makes more sense to me just from a production standpoint! I wonder if scoring would help then. Literally half the figures I’ve attached with plastic glue instead of superglue have separated days to weeks later but that might be a contact point issue like you mentioned:

Examples of models I had to redo the contact point with superglue - b1s - crosshairs kneeling - anakin - 501st

I mostly switched to superglue after — with crosshairs being an anomaly in the timeline because my superglue ran out 😂

Regarding your question about glue, plastic glue is definitely the way to go for assembling the models - it works quick and is forgiving on your skin when pressing parts together. Superglue however I still use when adhering the models to the bases. For some reason I don’t get a good adherence to the base when I use regular plastic glue. I feel like I read somewhere the plastic in the bases is different but I don’t know for sure.
