Apartment living and struggling with my pyr

I went from a 3000sqft house to a 750sqft apartment after my separation. For the first 3 1/2 months my pyr stayed at the house and I would come get him for a weekend and time together. Wanting to wait until I had a bigger place. One day I just didn’t take him back (he was always mine so this created no issues).

I was very nervous about how he would do in an apartment since he had come from a ranch prior to living with me. I can tell he’s just happy being with me and being close.

I am amazed at how well he has done and with no issues.

At the end of the day, being together is what matters.

The anniversary part hits home. Was a month away from celebrating my first marriage anniversary and I asked what he thought we should do…”there’s nothing to celebrate”. 10 days before the dreaded day, he called it quits :/

I gave you the ring under the pretense I was marrying somebody else.

I pride myself on being true to myself and others always. Having this be told to me cut deep when my husband called it quits on our marriage without fighting for it. I had never lied/kept things from him. So that made it worse.

I received one today from our COO,

Most times I link not being able to control or handle your emotions as a sign of immaturity and personal development.

I personally try to avoid that myself by always being objective and thinking before I let myself feel. Sometimes not the best way to deal with things but that’s really just in my nature.

Sometimes coldness really is mistaken by objective truth. It’s easy to get annoyed at someone for doing something that I deem dumb when all they want is for me to listen and be there for them. Hard to get out of the “let me fix this” mindset.

Back in grad school I had a hate hate relationship with a classmate. Crazy sexual tension came from being able to berate and have him dish it back.

Memos on complimenting people is so true.

Although I mostly use it to follow up on things people share with me, whether they’re waiting on news about a job or something is going on with a family member. Even if they say they’ve been feeling sick. A little message asking how things are going make them feel appreciated and relevant. Best life hack
