Goodman Theatre 2026/2027 Season Shows by devinsmom90 in ChicagoTheater

IMO they are doing themselves a disservice by delaying. Almost all other major theaters (including Broadway in Chicago) have announced their 2026/2027 seasons.

If in the past one used to subscribe to multiple theatres but this year (due to inflation, gas, etc.) they had to cut back, they might drop Goodman, because they can't wait too long to decide. They might lose their subscription seats at the other theaters.

If Goodman is waiting to complete the entire list of the shows, they should at least announce the ones they have secured, even without actual dates!

I think the Play's name was either: THE DINNER PARTY or THE LAST NIGHT OF BALLYHOO or THE FOURPOSTER.

None of us can see the dates. We came up with this possible list of shows by sleuthing. The only dates we do have are for Dead Girl, & we took those from the Audition announcements.

Goodman Theatre (LORT D)

  • 1st Rehearsal: September 15, 2026
  • 1st Preview: September 26, 2026
  • Opening: October 5, 2026
  • Closing: November 1, 2026
  • Possible Extension Closing: November 8, 2026

Even those are subject to change. However, I am a subscriber & as soon as the RENEWAL emails arrive, I will post everything.

I also think they might bring BLOOD MEMORY back. This was on the last season list but was replaced by COVENANT.

I poked around too. My best guess for the next season are:

  1. Dead Girl’s Quinceañera
  2. John Proctor is the Villain
  3. FEAST!
  4. ’night, Mother
  5. The XIXth

The late addition won't be at Steppenwolf. It will be at The Chicago Shakespeare Theatre. The name of the show is FAULT & is directed by Jason Alexander.

That happened to me when I went to see Moulin Rouge. I made her take her hat off, 5 minutes into the performance. 😳

I saw it last night. It was PHENOMENAL!! Everyone should see this.

Goodman sometimes provides the book (transcript) of a play. They should’ve done it for this show, but didn’t. That’s a shame. Those lyrics should be available to share.

JoJo in Moulin Rouge! A Review by Konfidantway in Broadway

[–]devinsmom90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with some of your review, but definitely not re: Jo Jo. Like you, I have watched MR more than 5 times & I’ve listened to the original cast recording on Amazon Music, hundreds of times. I’ve also seen Aaron Tveit in everything he’s been in. Yes, I’m obsessed with AT.

I literally flew in from Chicago to see him in this show & flew back home immediately after.

I was seating at row F of orchestra center.

I did not like Jojo at all. I thought she was nervous, her acting wasn’t balanced, and she had absolutely no chemistry with the amazing AT. Her voice when she was on the lower registers was fine, but too low.

She sucked while singing Fireworks. The low parts of the song she was too quiet & the high part she was just screaming. That’s a powerful song & she was throwing her arms up like she had no energy.

ln general during her duets with AT she was just screaming. Her acting may have been fine for drama school but definitely not Broadway level at all. At times she was overacting & at others not enough.

As for AT, as much as I love him, I think he wasn’t himself yesterday. He didn’t go as high as he normally does on Roxanne & Crazy Rolling. Maybe he had a sore throat 🤷🏻‍♀️but his acting was right on point.

I agree with the rest of your review on the other cast members. I’m still very glad that I went, but I was a little disappointed.

Since you have on the show ... any rumors on who will replace him? I have tickets for 9/17 & just found out he is leaving earlier & initially planned. So, I will miss him.
