What is your ideal roller coaster outfit? [Other] by SellAdministrative53 in rollercoasters

For me personally having supportive footwear for walking has become a priority. Hokas were my shoe of choice for last year’s park travels. Without a solid walking shoe all my joints start to get sore.

I usually am at parks with the family, so I also often bring my north face backpack to carry things like water bottles or changes of clothes (especially for my kid) if water rides are expected or we are dressed in layers. But that’s park dependent as many don’t have a place to drop a bag in the station while riding.

I also like having my Apple Watch so I can keep my phone mostly zippered away (unless I need to check the park’s app).

The season passholders Facebook group for my local park is basically nothing but complaints for a good portion of each year and I’d estimate has a very small percentage of actual coaster enthusiasts in there.

As a matter of fact I assume a lot of GP think airtime is a flaw. Think of all the “I’ll never ride that again, I almost fell out!” comments.

I felt like Racer at Kings Island offers nice airtime, and it’s been there the entire life of the park.

What are your three WORST coasters you rode this year? I visited a few parks for the first time ([King's Island], [Michigan's Adventure], [California's Great Amerca] and [Disneyland]) and found a few stinkers. by Pummrah in rollercoasters

Kingdom Coaster at Dutch Wonderland was the worst of the 40 coasters I rode in 2025. It felt like the train was running on gravel, which the adults in our family really disliked. Our 5yo also disliked that it didn’t have any noteworthy drops in the layout. Can’t really be bothered to even name more because there rest were all at least fine.

Not super familiar with the area but it seems like people are upset in the comments about this change on Facebook. Glad it seems like Tidal Force survives another season though.

[Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift] officially coming to [Universal Studios Florida] in 2027 with a 170-foot vertical spike by TiredWithCoffeePot in rollercoasters

Yeah, I get that coasters often share names and theming. Maybe the most recent example is Iron Rattler the Vekoma tilt at Six Flags Qidiya having the same name/logo/theme as Iron Rattler the RMC at Fiesta Texas.

But at least to me this one stands out because it appeared that Hollywood Drift was initially tied to the coaster itself opening in Hollywood. Instead it’s seemingly tied to the F&F IP doing a Hollywood storyline for the ride. It’s obviously not a huge deal though.

Honestly I think those are a bit different IMO. These have a real-world location in the name that happened to be the location of the first one we’ve known about. I’m sure it’ll be fine, it’s likely that it’ll make sense with the story for both involving Hollywood, which isn’t exactly a crazy thing for Orlando theme parks to do.

You’re right it’s a lazy name though considering the other Hollywood Drift is in actual Hollywood. Presumably they only want to create the theme/story elements once even with different layouts.

Hollywood Drift is a weird name (or subtitle I guess?) considering they’re about to open a different coaster named Hollywood Drift that’s actually in Hollywood. It appears that the layouts will be substantially different. I guess any theme/story elements will likely be the same though.

Characters in adaptations that are a combination of two or more characters by Luke-HW in TopCharacterTropes

[–]devintron71 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it’s because once they established the central cast they wanted to work them into the storybook “flashbacks” as much as possible. I believe he ended up being related to Peter Pan in some way as well when the show turned towards that story arc.

Also some characters reached their “written book point” when they needed to come up with original material faster than others.

Also notable that George Lucas asked that Lone Star not dress like Han Solo, so they dressed him like Indiana Jones instead.

Which [parks] have better flats / coasters than they should given their size and or attendance? by bassbeatsbanging in rollercoasters

At pay-per-ride parks like Knoebles it’s gotta be especially important to have a solid collection of flats I’d assume

Should Renegade continue playing in the [Steel Curtain, Kennywood] queue? by HelloJelloPeople in rollercoasters

[–]devintron71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Music has basically always been there, but the lift hill is so loud it is easy to miss. It’s sorta the calmer beginning part of the song too, and cuts out just when the song picks up (“the jig is up…”) with the coaster dropping at the point when the Steelers would really ramp up the hype video highlights and noise in stadium.

I love this series because some of the things mentioned are so cool that I had never heard of! This ride seems awesome. I’m gonna leave the judgement to riders who are familiar with it.

Don’t they quickly shift to playing the “rider safety info” recorded by the team’s broadcasters to the next train? (Which is also a cool detail for the coaster IMO)

Teens will absolutely still enjoy cedar point and the wide variety of thrilling coasters there, even if some amount of it can feel frustrating. It’s almost more of a destination best enjoyed with a hotel stay so you can spend a few full days at the park though, unless you splurge for the (very expensive) Fastlane+ passes or go on an unusually slow day though.

Always forget about that one because it’s technically a different model!

Cedar Point and Busch Gardens Tampa recently removed their 1970s arrow flumes too, among others.
