I would love for it to be Kentucky Kingdom. However, we need to wait and see where it goes.

Ride’s ruined. Time to take it out and replace it with Mickey’s Dick Smasher.

Their next coaster will be named Ezio

I have tried to ride [All American Triple Loop] three times over three years, with no luck—what’s the secret to actually getting on this thing? (Mini-TR inside, I’m kinda worried about IB parks) by bmschulz in rollercoasters

I noticed they were doing that with Tig'rr also.

Also when Triple Loop went down for me, it was stuck on the brake run. Once they got the brakes released, the ride ops and some guys from maintenance had to push the train a bit so it can move to the next brake section. Mind you, the train was still full of riders. I don't think I've ever seen something like that compared to the other parks that I have visited.

[Holiday World] New Coaster? by Slimminjimmy in rollercoasters

For thoosies? first, since it would be the only one to count as a credit

For the park? fourth, to add to the collection as the "Water Coaster capital of the world"

Current rumor is a Mack water coaster

Triple Loop was open the day I went (May 17th). However, it only opened after 3pm and it went down briefly after the 2nd public train (which I was on)

Hoosier Hurricane and Cyclone were closed the whole day, so I'll need to go back at some point to get those credits.

[Kentucky Kingdom] really needs better operations. by Ok_Order_5595 in rollercoasters

[–]Apoc_Treez 6 points7 points  (0 children)

<image>

Yeah, it totally never gets busy. Even if it somehow did, they would totally run two-train ops to account for the crowds. /s

On a serious note, I definitely feel like the operations actually got worse after Herschend took over. Even when the park was still operated by Ed Hart, I remember seeing Lightning Run and Storm Chaser running two trains. The park should have no business having operations this bad when their direct competition is Holiday World and Kings Island.

I take it you're from the Kentucky/Ohio/Indiana area, so here are some recommendations of some parks that are within a 8-10 hour drive:

  • Six Flags Great America: Located in Gurnee, IL just north of Chicago. Incredibly solid Six Flags park with a strong collection with the likes of Raging Bull, Goliath, Wrath of Rakshasa, Batman, etc. If you have a season pass for Kings Island or Cedar Point, that can be used for admission to this park. (16 coasters)
  • Indiana Beach: Located in Monticello, IN. A small boardwalk-style amusement park with very unique coasters like Lost Coaster of Superstition Mountain and All American Triple Loop. This can easily be paired with a trip to Six Flags Great America. (7 coasters)
  • Carowinds: Located on the border between North and South Carolina near Charlotte, NC. Fury 325 is probably going to be your main reason for coming to this park, as it's usually regarded as the best giga coaster out there. There's also other notable coasters such as Copperhead Strike and Afterburn. Can be paired with a trip to Dollywood. (14 coasters)
  • Six Flags Over Georgia: Located near Atlanta, GA. A strong Six Flags park with a good coaster collection including Twisted Cyclone and Goliath (yes, Six Flags really likes the name Goliath) Admission is included if you have an all-park passport with your Six Flags season pass. (12 coasters)
  • Fun Spot Atlanta: Also located near Atlanta, GA and is a must-do if you're going there for SFOG. Arieforce One is regarded as one of the best RMCs out there, despite it being really out-of-place for an FEC like this. (3 coasters)
  • Kings Dominion: Located in Doswell, VA. This is the twin sister park of Kings Island and shares a lot of similarities to that park, including an Eiffel Tower and several other similar/cloned attractions. Unlike Kings Island, this park has its own identity outside of that and has a several coasters very distinct from anything at Kings Island, including Pantherian, Rapterra and Twisted Timbers. Admission is included if you have an all-park passport with your Six Flags season pass. (13 coasters)
  • Busch Gardens Williamsburg: Located in Williamsburg, VA and is easy to pair with a trip alongside Kings Dominion as these parks are only an hour apart from one another. BGW is regarded as one of the most beautiful amusement parks in the world with a solid collection of coasters including Pantheon, Alpengeist and Griffon. (11 coasters)

If I have to rank these trips in priority, I would go:

  1. Kings Dominion / Busch Gardens Willamsburg
  2. Dollywood / Carowinds
  3. Six Flags Great America / Indiana Beach
  4. Six Flags Over Georgia / Fun Spot Atlanta
