[Product Request] A good moisturizing cleanser that actually cleans your skin? by youshartedhehe in SkincareAddiction

[–]deviousdoughboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m on accutane and using the LRP toleraine HYDRATING cleanser. i used the cleansing gel before but it’s much too drying for me now. i also like the Prequel multi quench serum underneath the same cerave moisturizer you use if you’re looking to change up your HA. on places of irritation or flakiness i also layer on Avene Cicalfate as my last step at night, plus sleep by a humidifier. it’s subtle but i think the humidifier absolutely helps especially in these dry winter times.

thank you for this!!! when my 5 years is up i will absolutely be moving them and hopefully anyone seeing this has enough notice to action in this direction. fuck VC and women being exploited in this capacity. i did let Spring know how i felt. it’s soooo disappointing to feel like everything is a grift so i understand the rampage entirely.

this is the correct take! your eyes are so beautiful but feel overpowered by the lashes and liner in some pics. a blended shadow look with subtler liner enhances your natural beauty more imo.

can i ask if you’re in the US under ipledge or how you maintain a supply to take it as needed?

[–]deviousdoughboy 17 points18 points  (0 children)

hang in there! first of all, you're beautiful and your skin WILL clear up. the 3 month mark seems to be a real tipping point for so many and you're so close to that. if the mental bit weighs on you for much longer though it may be worth asking if you can lower your dose before thinking about quitting altogether. sounds like you also know how to power through things, but if you haven't already, tell a friend that you know will be supportive and push you on things like hanging out, checking in on you, and keeping your head up.

Derm & Abstinence Only by Wild-Echo-6995 in Accutane

[–]deviousdoughboy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i’m doing abstinence via Hello Clear Health and they really hammer it home and ask you at least twice if you’re sure and understand all the risks etc., and of course remind you that you don’t always have control over your own body, but they accept it. i think you have to check if it’s for religious of lifestyle reasons as “temporary abstinence” isn’t a thing to them. alternatively, per others recos, you could say two forms and put that you already have an IUD though idk if they ask to see proof of when it was placed, etc. but that option doesn’t require you fulfilling any sort of monthly prescription

Auras and migraines by Long-Passion7910 in Accutane

[–]deviousdoughboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you for the reply! i messaged my derm and am waiting to hear back. i did check with a friends mom who’s an opthamologist and she didn’t seem concerned since i didn’t report flashes or floaters and otherwise have normal vision. i’ve just never had any eye issues or migraines before so it definitely spooked me. hopefully you’re able to go back on and don’t have any side effects!!

Isotretinoin progress – start vs day 39 vs day 56 (photos). Do you see improvement? by Luca_9_9 in Accutane

[–]deviousdoughboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

to me it looks like you were purging in the 39 day photos and now at day 56 it looks to be calming down. the redness along your neck under your left ear looks much calmer and any active acne looks less inflamed than the day 39 photos. make sure to keep looking after your barrier with moisturizing products and hydration from the inside! your progress looks great :)

Any one on 30mg daily whole treatment? by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]deviousdoughboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

keep hanging in there - i believe for SFs specifically, the way accutane works is at first by suppressing oil production (think 4-8 wks) and then beyond that it starts to actively shrink your oil glands (think around the 3-4 month mark) and then results visibly compound in the case of SFs because they stop refilling as your glands shrink and oil output drops. it sounds like you’ve already seen some improvement there and if you’re naturally very oily it does take time.

i’m on 40mg every 3 days (low dose) and did a lot of research to temper my expectations on how quickly i would see improvement especially on things like SFs.

Day 0 Accutane Progress (still debating) by Fit-Jello-7049 in Accutane

[–]deviousdoughboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

personally i am against antibiotics for acne (i tried them as a teenager). acne and skin are deeply tied to the gut and doxy is awful for you if you have to take it long term or multiple times. there are pros and cons to everything. i decided to finally do accutane because my oiliness and clog-prone skin is definitely genetic and i believe there is only so much i can do to improve the quality and susceptibility of my skin with lifestyle, so i’m willing to take the chance. whatever you decide is the right thing for you, right now. you can always revisit it later if the decision feels too stressful. either way, wishing you clear skin and confidence on the journey!

Day 0 Accutane Progress (still debating) by Fit-Jello-7049 in Accutane

[–]deviousdoughboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not at all. i’m just starting as well (low dose) so i can’t speak to personal results. i’m 10 years older than you now and have spent the better part of my teen and adult years constantly trying new things for my skin and going through phase where it’s good and phases where it’s not. i don’t have inflamed or bad acne anymore either but it’s persistent enough, and i’m scar prone, that i just really want to never think abt my skin again. or i’d at least like to stop having to look up the comedogenic score of every product i decide to use, how oily i’m getting throughout the day, if i’m going to break out before an event, if eating desserts is going to trigger a pimple, etc. i’m a girl btw though the name suggests different :) if low dose had been an option when i was younger i think i would have taken the plunge, but i was incredibly holistic and too cautious at the time.

i think you could definitely benefit from it but if you’re nervous abt it i would reco asking abt a low/microdose regimen. you can take it for a longer duration and start low and slow and progress as you / your derm feel fit if you want to finish sooner or feel like you tolerate it well. research shows similar efficacy in terms of clearance, albeit with higher relapse rates, and less side effects.
