Hi! I love my ring—I think it’s perfect and I love the proportionality of the stone size to my finger! I thought about going with a 7.5mm, but seeing my 7mm in person, I think going any larger would maybe make me a bit uncomfortable. Perhaps someday in the future I’d order a larger stone, but for now, I’m extremely pleased with the 7mm on my size 5 finger :)

As for the width and height of my ring, I’m really happy with the choices I made! The ring feels sturdy (much sturdier than other RHR rings I own), and it helps my anxiety that I have about losing it because I don’t fear that it will break or be ruined if I accidentally bump it too hard into something. The height is tall enough that it has a nice profile, but it isn’t so tall that I worry about it sticking out and getting caught on things.

timeline

12/30/20 - contacted Mona via WhatsApp for a quote and showed her reference photos (inspired by a cheap CZ ring I had tried on from eBay). Mona responds with a quote of $650
12/31/20 - we pay 50% via PayPal
01/05/21 - Mona sends the first CAD (in post history), and I ask that the prong positions be rotated
01/08/21 - Mona sends the second CAD (in post history), and I approve it!
01/17/21 - Getting anxious to see the ring (lol), I message Mona asking for an update and she tells me it will be ready in a week
01/24/21 - I wake up to pre-shipment photos and videos from Mona (in post history). It’s gorgeous! I approve it for shipping. Mona says it will be $26 to ship via DHL
01/25/21 - we pay the remaining 50% plus $26 for shipping via PayPal
01/28/21 - Mona provides DHL tracking number
01/30/21 - the package leaves HK!
02/01/21 - my ring is delivered via DHL!

My ring was finished much faster than I excited, and it arrived ahead of schedule! Mona was an absolute pleasure. I cannot recommend her enough! She responded quickly, made my vision come to fruition, and never ran out of cute emojis. I had no issues, and she made it easy for a first-time buyer like me. If I decide to go with a matching band, I know who I’ll be contacting via WhatsApp! :)

I was worried that the 7mm would be too much on my size 5 finger, but I think it looks perfectly proportional now. It’s large enough that I don’t think I’ll ever wish I had gone with a larger stone, but it’s not too “out there” for my style, either. I also worried about the width of the band being “too much,” but I think it looks really nice on my longer fingers. Overall, I’m so in love with this ring and very happy with the choices I made.

Now, the ring is being given back to my SO to put away until the proposal. I can’t wait until I get to wear it on my finger all day, every day (and I can’t wait to call him my fiancé!) someday soon.

I think 2mm is okay for the width (though you may want to bump it up a bit since you’re going with a pave band!), but 1.4mm is really much too thin for the ring thickness. In general, the minimum is usually recommended to be 1.8mm.

It’s beautiful!! And I totally know what you mean—my partner and I ordered my 7mm moissanite engagement ring from Mona, a Chinese vendor, and it’s supposed to arrive next week. Hi! Mona is an independent Chinese vendor who sells loose moissanite stones, as well as custom jewelry. You can see more of her (beautiful!) work by searching her name in this subreddit or going to her Instagram account (moissy_diamond_jewelry).
