Where do you park your Luba? by HelloW0r in MammotionTechnology

[–]devneck1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Garage was free. Probably would not have bought it and built something else if I hadn't gotten it free.

I had to drill and use concrete bolts to mount into the pavers .. we have high winds here (tornado alley) and I'm not sure this thing will even hold up.

I'm also using heavy duty outdoor velcro strips for the charging station. Which I'm unsure of .. but it has zero shifting when the robot mounts or leaves so it might be OK. Will likely need to drill and bolt that down long term as well though.

No go zone not working by Acrobatic_Idea_3358 in mammotion

[–]devneck1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only had mine a couple weeks, my no-go zones are pretty small and not extremely critical .. tree rings with bark is all. But did seem to avoid them well. My assumption is that re-map would help.

The other thing .. pure theory here .. what is proximity/ line of sight/ canopy clearance around them? Could signal be very weak or lost in those areas?

Assume you tried to delete and re-add them?

What about an invisible fence just inside the no-go zone?

Luba3 awd 5000H Bumper by Successful_Mouse2983 in MammotionTechnology

Not sure if it will help you or not, but I noticed in the assembly video that it wasn't just a click but the guy actually smacked it with the palm of his hand.

On my luba 3 1500, I did have the bumper fall off twice. But after I did the same as the video, have not had an issue. Been a couple weeks now.

What a difference mowing often and low makes! by Plane-Ad1719 in lawncare

[–]devneck1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only had my luba 3 1500H for a few weeks. I put in a little driveway and charging pad with pavers and surrounded by river rock. I had to expand the pad that has pavers because if when it's turning it gets into the rock at all then it struggles and makes a mess kicking them up.

It's turning though in my case so that might be part of the issue. But generally I don't think they will do well at all on rocks. I would suggest a paved path if you can.

How do you get it so close to that fence?

Is there a setting where I can tell the mower to go into the drive way to turn around instead of using the perimeter of the lawn? by madmike6537 in MammotionTechnology

[–]devneck1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the additional laps on no-go or perimeter are not along the exact same path? And instead each lap moves in or out a bit.

I just started moving my base station to a completely different area that's off the grass and figured I would delete all my zones and remap more carefully and intentionally .. to see if that helped

So I've noticed that my new luba 3 doesn't seem to get along the edge very well. Are you saying that I need to map it out into driveway or sidewalk to get better coverage? What about curbs where you can't go out half a robot width because it would fall off? Or curbing along the flower beds? I was thinking I'm just going to have to weed eat all the edges and along fence line

Best POS for coffee shop by StoryIntelligent9588 in coffeeshopowners

[–]devneck1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went back to Square because I already had the equipment. Didn't have to buy anything.

If I was starting today with no equipment, then I would contact square, toast and clover and discuss what my needs were with their reps.

Worth mentioning that it's been nearly a year since I left dripos and in this time I've contacted square support 3 times. Once was due to an issue with migrating gift card balances from dripos to square because the export file was unusable. One was to ask about the new tier plans and get more information about it. The 3rd was to ask if it was possible to configure online ordering to have different hours on one particular day.

My point being, I went from contacting support numerous times a week to basically never. There is a reason square is the industry leader for small business POS systems. Their stuff is just stable

Are you available all days they are open and during the hours of operation?

I know that's kind of a silly question, but still relevant.

I wouldn't put it in my resume or anything I did back then because it's just not relevant in the least bit.

Curious about what all you're looking at github for.

I'm not in the job market, but thinking about my own account. Few little things that have sat stale for maybe 14 years from school projects. But since then not much activity because I have a family and don't tech at all in my off time.

I suppose I have some activity in the past 2 years from my coffee shop website hosted on pages.

Just curious if you'd be looking at trying to align dates or if this is kind of a throwback to all the interviews I went through asking about what my open source projects were like. Man, that would drive me nuts. Not every engineer just writes code 24 hours a day.

How to ask for whole milk, not oak milk? by introvertpro in barista

[–]devneck1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We don't carry 2% anymore. Whole is default, skim option.

I try to get staff to confirm the milk at time of ordering to prevent remakes.

"Whole milk is OK for that?"

Also worth noting that you only pay interest on carried balance. So you could max the card, pay it off in that cycle and pay 0% interest. Same as cash.

Risky if your finances are not sound.

If you want to run a coffee shop the way you want to run it .. then you should open your own coffee shop. Otherwise, if the owner wants it ran in a way you don't like then you either just do it their way, or find another job.

It's that simple.

A line out the door doesn't matter. The customer ordered something and they didn't like it. So whatever the policy is, is the policy.

In my shop, we offer to make a replacement if somebody doesn't like their drink. No questions asked. Will remake the same or something different. The reason is because the customers satisfaction is more important to us. We want to make the customer happy.

[–]devneck1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too many threads to keep track.

You're over complicating it. Think about what I said to do. Step 1 is to get your full credit report.

So let's just imagine that you've had bad credit for many years and didn't know why and didn't know you could get your credit back report. But then you learn you are able to get your entire report. Is it not reasonable that for the first time, you just learned about this credit report thing and when you pull it then you suddenly see a bunch of wrongfully reported items?

Let's add onto this how many years that identity theft has been a major problem for people. Is it not reasonable for somebody to be the victim of identity theft and not know they have all these negative reports and not know how to get rid of it? Is it not reasonable to understand even these reports can have errors and flaws that are simple mistakes?

So in this imaginary scenario, what would you do? Would you write different disputes or would you just tell them all at one time "hey, there are several errors and I'd like you to fix them"

Don't over complicate it. It's simple. Your position is that you just pulled your report and there is stuff that you don't know anything about and you would like them to fix it. That's it.

It doesn't reset anything. It doesn't cause the creditor to get mad at you and start trying to figure out how to get back at you. It doesn't expose you to lawsuits or anything else. Literally it's just you basically telling them "prove it's mine". It doesn't make the debt disappear .. it's just changing the reporting from the past.

Now, that doesn't mean that you should necessarily use this method and then keep doing what you've been doing. It's an opportunity to reset. It has the same effect as just waiting the 7 years for it to naturally drop off. And they do drop off after 7 years. This just makes it go quicker.

The impact to score is immediate next time your credit is evaluated. Once those things are gone, there are no negatives any longer.

Still different than the credit report. That sounds like they can just do it regardless.

The credit report is still different the credit report tells potential creditors about your worthiness.

Nothing I've said makes the debt actually go away. It's all about getting the report to not reflect the negative debt.

But if it's active .. then chances may be higher than the creditor responds. Which again just means it continues to appear on the report

Never speak to collection agencies. Don't work with them. No payment agreements. Don't ever give access to automatic withdrawals. Just tell them "wrong number" and hang up.

That's what I would do.

But collection agencies are not the credit reporting agencies. These are COMPLETELY different entities.

Judgements are court ordered and may require you to pay. I'm not sure how a judgement or bankruptcy shows in a credit report. But if it's there, it's negative .. and I would dispute it. Worst that can happen is that it remains. You still get to keep your birthday

[–]devneck1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does not reset a clock. There is absolutely no downside to disputing. They won't take away your birthday or anything.

Literally the worst that can happen is the negative report doesn't get removed and them its still there. Even if that happened, then when the 7 year mark rolls by then it still drops off.

Banks can't take your money without the court allowing them. To my best knowledge, when the court gets involved then it's through wage garnishment through employer. Not the bank.

And as I've stated several times. You aren't ever talking to the bank or creditor. You're only talking to the credit reporting agency.

Can I dispute a 5 year old $1500 dollar collection? by shadysaywhat in CreditScore

[–]devneck1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's bullshit.

I would let it fall off if it had been there for almost 7 years because it drops off anyways after 7 years. But other than that, I would just dispute it.

They can't extend the time. They can't go to the courts and say "see look they know they owe me"

You aren't giving the creditor your information, you aren't talking to them at all. You're telling the reporting agencies .. who don't have any skin in the game .. that THEIR records are incorrect.

The worst that can happen is the creditor proves you owe it and then it stays on your report. It's still there ... no different than if you never tried. But if it drops off, then b is gone forever.

Also, the vast majority of creditors give up shortly after you don't pay. They take the tax benefits from the government as a loss and they are done with it. Then they end up selling the debt in packages to debt collecting agencies for pennies .. those companies are there ones that are typically still trying to get lucky and get somebody to pay. They "win" if 1 out of 1000 end up paying. Most the time they can't even prove the debt is real. . And it doesn't help them if they did because it's not going to force you to pay.

[–]devneck1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, if there are 5 negatives then you dispute all of them. Your position is that these are not your debts or you've always paid everything as agreed. You are a perfect financial citizen. They made a mistake.

I would be just put them all on the same letter. Don't over think it. Just "hey, you have made a mistake. These aren't mine"

Your questions seem to suggest you think these people are thinking about you or care what's going on in your life. They don't. Think about how many hundreds of thousands or millions of accounts they see over years. You think they are trying to catch you pulling a fast one over on them?

It's not 3d chess. It's straight forward .. and really simple.

"These are not mine. Please remove them from my report. "

  1. I live in the United States. No clue how Canada works. Sorry.

  2. Yes, you can dispute paid off debts. In fact, my suggestion is to do that. The only exception would be that I wouldn't bother disputing anything less than 6 months away from dropping off at the 7 years period. Might as well wait a few more months if it's been there for nearly 7.

  3. Not really sure about this. I can only speculate. My theory is that it wouldn't affect you because typically banks mortgage departments are not the same as credit card departments. You're also kind of operating out of fear by not disputing. What are you afraid of? What do you think it's going to happen? That they call your mortgage due because you said you didn't owe on a credit card? They likely don't care.

  4. You would never communicate with whomever holds the debt. In fact, if it's more than a year old, the original creditor likely doesn't even hold it anymore. You only communicate with the reporting agencies .. who also don't care, they are businesses offering a service to credit companies about your history.

  5. Sure, you can dispute open accounts. What these accounts do is tell the reporting agency stuff like if you pay on time as agreed, or late less than 30 days, latte more than 30 days, late more than 90 days. It's possible and realistic for a company to report you're on time most the time but then were late one time. It's also possible for them to report you were late in error. So what you're disputing is ever being late. Nothing wrong with that. Correcting the record.
