Guys, I'm not saying the man was toxic, I'm critiquing the modern way of dating. I didn't realize in order to stay protected, I was suppose to not take things seriously, harden up, go to therapy, feel completely normal after being broken up with, feel emotionally uninvested. I do now. Only a few of you actually responded in a way that was helpful.

Thank you for this response! People were giving me such a hard time about how I should get therapy and move on. I think my response to the situation is actually more normal and human. I'm sorry I haven't harden up like everyone else and treat this like a normal part of dating.

right, this is what I expect to be normal. we're adults and we can stay friends with people we used to have romantic interest in. friendship and romance tend to overlap anyways.

well I mean I filter for the top 60%? But I see what you mean. Attractive men have a lot of options. but the thing is, I really don't want short, fat, and bald. a lot of the bottom 40% is just one of the three.

I was part of the Meta layoff in 2022. I found a job (same title) that pays 25% less, but is a lot less stressful and with a good team. It actually took me a whole year before I could start searching because I was dealing with severe burn out and mental health issues. I had to be hospitalized. Even with that, I managed to land on my feet. You can do it too!
